I am a honda technician my brother has a 01 cl-s and has the random misfire issue, ive done the t-belt, spark plugs, replaced a bad coil, and cleaned the egr ports and intake ports still has a misfire/stumble at idle and while driving. Im doing the fuel injectors on monday and will report.

 

After u put the coils did u reset the check engine with the scanner after u inserted the new coil? This jus happened to my 03 cl and I changed the sparks oil and coil and for a day it still said misfired then I reset the ecu and now my car is runnin great!

 

Replace all injectors and re-set PCM car ran great for about 10 mins then the misfire started happening again. I think I'm gonna adjust the valves and Dona compression test. The engine could be f*cked

 

I doubt its an internal problem if the engine ran fine for 10 minutes.

 

it might be injectors. let us know how it goes. i had misfire last fall and it was loose spark plug but im sure you checked that already

 

Ya I had the same prob I replaced the fuel injectors too. Can't be the valves because those are hydrolic. But at this point its worth a shot haha

But u kno wat mine did the same thing when I put my new coil on. Cause after abt 85 miles after I put the coil on the check light came on and it gave me misfire in cylinder three. After I drove for a day or 2 with a new coil I reset the ecu again and like I said it runs nice let me kno. Does ur car fEel like shakey? Does it sound like a mustang?.

 

actually you are wrong they are manual adjust

 

It's usually the coils....I was having the same issue like many others.....it might be a bit pricey..around $45 each but change all the coils and reset the ecu and that will solve your problems I bet...it did for me

 

Yea you can def adjust the valves and we arnt the first owner of the car so have no idea what kind of work was done to it. so im pretty much picking away at it.
