Guys i have a question . Im in Mexico city right now and today after checking my car the local mechanic told me that the noise my car had is from catalitic converter . I can easy cut the coverter off and in it place put just a metalic tube . There is one problem , catalitic has O2 sensor ... so what my mechanic offering is to take the O2 sensor and placed inside the new tube. That way i will not have the check engine on .What do you think ? Will my car gain some power maybe? Is that possible to do that? They do have Acura dealership here but all the models after 2005 , my car is 2001 and catalitic in states covered by warranty for 10 years , do you think I can apply the states warranty here in Mx and get catalitic replaced with new one free of charge ? Any advices?
