Can someone post a pic of the gas door release on a 2nd gen CL?
Hi All,
Finally picked up my NBP '01 CL-S last week from FL. It's a one-owner car with complete maintenance history, all the way back to day 1. The original owner was completely anal about the mechanical condition, and did ALL of the scheduled maintenance when it was called for. I'll be posting some pics of it later, but right now I have a little problem that I need to have fixed.
On the way back to NC from FL, I decided to avail myself of some of the low-tax gas in GA. I pulled up to the station, hit the gas release from inside the car, and.......nothing. Unfortunately, I was not aware (at that time) of the 'trick' on how to open the door when the release doesn't work. I called the dealer from my cell, and he said to manually open the door from inside the trunk.
I did that, but now I cannot get the door to latch properly again. It's not due to the metal tab on the gas door, but rather the piece that the door itself latches on to. I don't think I have that piece (the one that is inside the trunk area) inserted correctly. Can someone post a close-up pic of the piece that the gas door latches onto? I think that is where my problem is, and want to avoid a trip to the dealer if I can help it!
