Question Can anyone offer any hints on replacing a passenger side mirror

I have to replace the passenger side mirror on my '01 CL Type-S. I have a mirror on the way, matching paint, bought on E-Bay for $80 delivered.

I presume that I have to remove the door panel, so my first question would be what kind of clips does it have and how do you best disconnect them? Then there will be electrical connections to deal with. Are there any that are hidden or any trick to disconnecting them? And then I thought that like many other vehicles the mirror itself will bolt on from the inside after some cover or another is removed - is this right?

Anyway, anything you can offer up from your experience with the doors or removing and replacing a mirror will certainly be appreciated. Oh, and yes, I had to get an interior rear-view mirror too, but it came out easily enough and reassembly is as straight forward as it is obvious. Its the exterior side mirror that I'm more concerned about.

Remove the door cover, there's one screw where the arm rest is and the other is where the door handle is, under the plastic cover. That will get you to remove the handle. after removing both screws, just start prying the cover apart, I usually start from the bottom. The clips will start popping out.

Then disconnect any eletrical connectors you see, this should be pretty straight forwards. Then remove the triangle cover where the tweeter sits. Just pry at it, be careful not to scratch it like I did and use a scraper or screwdriver wrapped in tape. The disconnect the eletrical connector for the tweeter. You should see the bolts and an eletrical connector holding the mirror in.

Thank you. I very much appreciate your response. Seems pretty straight forward so it shouldn't be a problem.

Help again! I found the screw behind the door latch, in my car there is a small plastic cover over it and can be popped open with a small screwdriver but I can't find another screw or any other caps hiding a screw anywhere. Just where on the armrest is the thing? I must be looking either in the wrong place or for the wrong thing.

On the armrest kinda under it. Where the handle grab is. Its recessed in so you'll need a long screw driver to reach it. Looks like an empty hole.

Ah Ha! Hole found!

Thanks again. I just went out to the car, tossed a chunk of plywood down on the ground and got under the door looking up - and by god there it was.

The mirrors should be here tomorrow and I don't want to go another day without them.
