While driving, the little green key on the guage cluster started flashing. It's the "key" symbol that flashes when you turn the car on.

Just curious, never seen that happen before.

I'll try to remember and check the electrical trouble shooting manual this evening to see if it indicates any cause.

Let you know tomorrow. Remind me if I forget.

The following is in the owner’s manual on page 56 and page 78

The "key" symbol is the Immobilizer System indicator which is linked to a micro chip inside the ignition key. Page 78 of the manual states “if indicator blinks it’s because the immobilizer system in not recognizing your key code”.

It goes on to say that other things may cause interference with communication between the key and the immobilizer system such as:

 Do not keep other immobilizer keys on the same key ring
 Use a plastic or leather key fob, not metal
 Keep other keys away from your car’s keys and ignition switch while trying to start the engine.

Do any of these apply?

The part about keeping other keys away while starting engine, but that would be just the other keys on my ring like house keys, etc. Not sure what happened, but it has only happened the one time.

Thanks for looking up that info for me, I lost my manual 2 years ago.
