2003 Acura CL type S
cel - P0740
causes can be-
-Failed TCC Solenoid (Torque Convertor Control?)
-Poor Electrical Connection
-Low Fluid

tcc - torque converter clutch solenoid. Looks like your transmission is a toast. No simple fix for this one. You may try transmission oil flush along with filter change but it may not help. Sorry man....

I got that code about a month ago..
P0740 Torque converter solonid circuit open.
Took it to Acura to see if it was maybee just a soloniod, but needed a whole new trans...Acura was gonna hook me up with 10% off so after the discount they wanted $4100 + tax. Found a great rebuilder that new his stuff and did it for $3000.
90% its your trans 10% its a solinoid.. GOOD LUCK!
When did u buy the car, recently?
I heard to many stories of people that just bough this car and a week later there trannies went. So the last person prob changed the fluid reset the light and sold it right away at first sign of the trans crapping out. If u just bough it from a dlr then they might help u out I know in NJ when we sell a used car we garentee inspection and give at least (minimun) 30 days 1000 mile powertrain warrenty!
