3 gear revs high
I just bough this car acura cl 2001 type s (automatic) 193,000 km. previous owner told me that when the the car is on 3rd gear revs till 5 and then changes to 4rd gear but then everything is good , just that problem really passing thru 3rd gear to 4fh gear . When i drove the car back home on the high way didnt seem to have any problem until now is doing it again . Some people told me that usually these cars dont have transmission problems although could be one of the sensors from the shifting fox or the oil change from the shifting box. If you please guys comment and help me find out what could be , i would appreciate it your comments. Cheeeers!!!

Welcome, just fyi. this is the 1st gen forum. Yours is a 2nd.
those people lied to you, honda has always had problems with their auto trannies in all of their cars. It might have gotten better over the years but your car's year is bad. They are called glass trannies for good reason. With the statements you have given us, it might be on its way out. its just a matter of time.

Asianspec not all of Hondas automatics are bad. Not sure where you got your information but that is very misleading. The biggest years for faulty automatics are 99-03. Most of the newer years are problem free and the older ones are bulletproof especially the early 90s years.

Honda has had troubles with their 5at up until the 2007 production year. That is when the introduced a new case to alleviate the lubrication issues. In 2008 the remanufactured ones got the updated case as well.

Do a drain and fill on the ATF. You'll get out about 3 quarts. Drive it more than 100miles and do another D&F. 2 D&Fs leave you with 63% fresh fluid, 3 D&Fs leave you with 78% fresh ATF. What else can you do?
