I have a 2001 CL Type S with the Bose sound system. My radio completely stopped working last week. The control panel still turns on, the display and all the switching, volume, etc. all work fine, but there is absolutely no sound coming out of any of the speakers. I have a feeling that the problem is within the amp or connections to the amp. Does anyone have any idea where the amp is located? Is it a separate amplifier or is it integrated with the control preamplifier in the main console?

the amp is located in the trunk. i'm not too familiar with it b/c i took mine out a while ago, but i definitely know it's in the trunk

 

Its in the trunk on the right (passenger side). Its in front, as in towards the front of the vehicle, of the jack.

Take the jack out, the anchors holding down the carpet and pull the carpet aside. Its mounted under the carpet.

 

Thanks, I took it out. Now I have to find a way to test it.

 

Have you tried seafoaming it? Submerge it in seafoam and it will sound like a $2000 system.

see if the amp is getting power by using a volt meter to the wires. Theres a wiring diagram for the amp on here I believe
