01 CL-S Transmission shudder / slip
Hello, I've been reading this forum since '08 when I bought this car (2001 CL3.2Type-S). Had Brand new transmission, motor mounts, ecu and timing belt at 109K 12/08. I looked for a long time to find a really nice one and flew to Texas to get it. Over the years I have over maintained and loved this car and it looks as good as the day I bought it. Now i'm up to 255K highway miles and had my first trans issue. Knowing about the common cl trans issues I made sure this was the 06 and newer upgraded trans with blue bolts and I have changed the fluid every other oil change (every 3K oil, 6K trans fluid) with OEM Honda DW-1. I newer used the paddle shifter and have always drive smoothly. I'm an adult and drive like it.
Problem is that it was slow going into drive/reverse when cold, I think 3-4 shift slipped a bit and shuttered at partial throttle. I drove it a few more miles to see if it would happen again and did get a hard shift. I parked it as not to do any damage to it but after reading maybe I need to drive it more and find out exactly what gears are affected.
After reading everything I can find it seams like my problem is a little different than others. I took off the a/t clutch pressure control solenoid valves A and B, and the pressure solenoid valve C, both were clean with no debris in any of the screens and tested good with the ohmmeter. All the other post found dirty fluid from neglect and debris in the screens. My fluid is always pink and has never been burnt. My thought is it may just be a solenoid or sensor? There are lots of sensors and solenoids and most are expensive. Also thought of a professional diagnosis which is also expensive. I don't want to throw $ into this transmission and then have to replace it anyway.
I am prepared to do the 06 Accord trans swap or sell it cheap to someone else that would like to. I have the tools, skills and money ( and heated garage) to do the swap but think it would be foolish to go through all of that if it was just an easy fix. Any transmission experts out there know how to test the other solenoids, switches or sensors?
As always, thanks to all on this forum, it has saved me many times!

Do the Stop n Go to purge the torque converter, change 100% of the ATF - Valvoline Maxlife full synthetic, and ATF filter.
In between each 1x3 shift through gears Park-First with 10 seconds in each gear.
Add two doses of XADO EX 120.
Good luck.

Wanted to test ride after cleaning/swapping solenoids. Got it into reverse long enough to back into the street blocking both lanes. tried for drive, but trans was totally fried. Couldn't get forward or reverse. Finally shut it off after a couple minutes, restarted it and it idled into my driveway.
They had a AV6 at LKQ so I picked it up and took the old transmission out. Not really difficult, but time consuming. My car is from Texas so no rusty bolts to deal with. Ordered new gaskets, filter and DW1 from my local Honda dealer. Everything swapped over easily and would have put it in, but I think I may order a new torque converter first. I'll let you know how it turns out.

AV6 from a 2007 Honda Accord swap was a success! Drives like new. Thanks to all that have posted on the forum! All of my local transmission shops said it wouldn't work. I trusted you more than them
