'01 CL programming remote problems

My 2001 CL remote seems to have died - new batteries, but the little light doesn't come on. This remote has no numbers, no code on it. I bought a used one at salvage yard and the light works but nothing happens when I go through all the steps I've found online, even after I tried over and over, paying attn to every detail

Anyone know if these are the right steps for '01 Acura CL? Maybe I just bought a crap remote with a working light, or maybe I just don't have good info...

I looked at the instructions from the link and they were the same ones that I fallowed. The key fob is a honda/acura right? I left my keys in my pants one time and they got washed. the light still came on but it wouldn't unlock anything. for my new fob, it took like 30min of trying it over and over again before I got it. sounds like you got a bad fob.
