Picked up complete J35A8 RL intake off ebay with the imrc, top plate and throttle body. I know most people go J37, but those are getting harder to find complete for resonable price. Anyways heres some pics. Didn't look too bad initially...




Looked dirty under the top plate. But, that's to be expected for junk yard parts. For reference i measured the inlet at 70mm behind the throttle body


Split it open to get a better look. There really was not a lot of sealant, but being on there for 15yrs it was not an easy task. Heat, rubber mallet and patience is all I can say...

Wow, brake clean or degreaser would never have cleaned this being closed...

Be a good candidate for a port job once I clean it up. Could use after I rebuild the CLS, or keep as a spare for 07 TLS.

 

Mostly clean lower half. The contrast with the upper makes the result even more apparent.



Purposely left the sealant in place to illustrate how the halves are secured.


The visible grease thru the middle is the catch pan below.

 

Now time to port it!

 

yeah, i touched it up with a flex hone. i forget where I posted the pics. maybe 2g or 3g tl. I had got a 13 MDX throttle body too when I still had the 3G TLS, but never installed it.
