Nice picts/vids. I'm thinking about moving to SD sometime in the next year or two. Love it there. Sucks having to drive 5 hours to get there right now. Would love to be part of that crew!

i don't think anyone did. we pulled out of the lot at an angle. or do you mean flooring it?

 

Second vid, 25 seconds into it by the yellow sign.

 

oh. that's what you meant. that was a drainage grate or something like that. it was kind of a dip but, i didn't hit. it just caught my friend by surprise since he was recording while holding two cameras.

we did have one slight accident. as you can see in the second vid, i allowed most everyone else ahead of me as we were making our way to the summit of the mountain. as we were hauling ass, we came around a curve and found one of the guys that was at the very front of the pack flagging us down to slow. it turns out that two guys spun out in this:


it was some inch-thick ice that caught the Civic Si and the first NSX by surprise.







luckily he came out with only a scratch to the left rear quarter panel which he waxed out immediately. the brand new Si was the one that got his front lip shredded. i haveta find the pics of it.

No no, that would be a hell of a commute! Sorry, I just meant it's 5 hours to drive there. My girl and I have gone there a few times for long weekends and love it. We stayed at the Ocean Beach Hotel for Thanksgiving and fell in love with OB. I'm in Phoenix right now so it wouldn't be out of the question to make the move there in the future. Thanks for the offer though. Hopefully we'll both have our CL's in the not too distant future!

 

Here, you can use my old Civic Si's f*cked up front end for a temporary picture of what happened to the Si on your trip. Ice sucks.

 

Nice pics, Louis. I bet you had a lot of fun. Did those cars have to be pulled off? Or were they able to drive off the ledge?

 

it was fun as hell. we're going to have another run in the springtime. one of the TL guys had a rope with hooks on either end. we then had some passerbys in trucks pull out one car each.

what sucked is that we heard there was even more ice up ahead. we head back down and had some burgers.

 

damn. i guess ice DOES suck. the Si that was crashed was the new sedan kind.

his front end was toast after slipping and his momentum sending him into hitting a bank.

 

Wow...Ice in San Diego?? WTF...It's 65 here and no snow and ice in Southern California ...Hell is freezing over.

 

there was some snow up there cos it had rained a little the day before. if it's cold enough and the weather's right, we get maybe a foot and a half at the most in our local mountains. wow.

 

Hmm, snow/ice in SD, huh? Maybe I'll have to reconsider my move there. J/K. Less than 2 hours north of me in AZ and there's the same, huge elevation gains = bad weather.
