The dash kit I got is real brushed aluminum, no top coating of plastic. It is pretty rigid, nothing plastic about it. It's about 1/8" thick. The edges are not rounded or beveled which only is noticeable on the standalond pieces like on the arm rest. It's been a couple years but it was a website called wooddash, or wooddashkit. It was about $180 then, but I know they went up after I bought.
Most online dash co's will send free samples. That's what I did.
I have applied the wood kits too. The aluminum is a little trickier in that once you contact the surface at all you can not pull up and realign like you can with the plastic coated trims. The alum will bend and crease. My kit came with lots of pieces, even for the sunglass holder and rear ashtray. (No I didn't put it on the sunglass door.)
Just down the center console might look good, or also around the speedo gauge and then trim off the navi surround piece. THere are 4 pieces on the center console, the AC, the radio, the shifter, and the handbrake areas.
Enjoying watching your handiwork.

Dude, I'm in the same boat, thats exactly what i used to have on my 2001, but I've ordered samples from like 5 different companies, all of them don't evewn offer that kind of kit anymore, they offer an aluminum vinyl decal thats mounted on flexible plastic, so technically, it is real aluminum, but just not totally. I think they all changed over or somthing.

o_o when'd you get a 6spd?! wow i've been out of the loop... looking good! i have to say an aluminum dash kit would probably be too much silver on the interior. maybe just bits and pieces of it. too much of one thing is never good.
can't wait to see her with suspension!

OMG, Me and a friend dropped the front with neuspeed springs, It looks so sick already. the rear is gonna be done this weekend. The front is now a 2 finger gap. I also swapped calipers with my buddy from metallic blue (nice but too luxury) to the red (which is so sporty). It looks great. Once the rear is lowered then I'm moving onto the exhasut. I think I'm going to put on the magnaflows with custom tips and call it a day. Lastly, i'm going to come up with a nice spoiler from another OEM vehicle, something flat like a decklid type that sits flush, but not too small liek the M3 lip, somethign a little more noticeable. Updates coming soo. Funny how the drop helsp the wheels, BBK, kit and all look 10x better, and it rides like stock too. Had to go with the OEM shocks for now, but 20k miles later I think I'm going to switch to bilsteins or Koni yellows.
Alos, for the interior, i am just going to do the radio knobs in billet aluminum and I'm done with the interior. The aluminum dash kit would def be overkill.

Man, I just did the rears, took me about two hours to drop out the old shock and spring combo, swap the shocks to the new springs and reinstall.
2 finger gap all around, perfect for me. couldn't be more pleased. and she rides nice and quiet, better than those noisy coilovers I used to have.
Now onto the tints, exhaust and spoiler.
Pics will be up tomorrow hopefully, this salt is killing me, gotta clean the car.

pardon the noob question, but are coilovers known to be noisy even when installed correctly. because I thought that I just did something wrong along the way.

hey ron,
i have a question,
you said u went with 235 tire instead of 225 because 235 will give more comfort
Right now i am riding on 225/40/18/ but get no rubbin or any problem with my 18x8,,, if i change it to 235/40/18, will there be more comfort and still no rubbin or any problems?

To answer your question about the tires, it might be a little more comfortable, but the offset of your wheels will determine whether it will rub or not.
Rides like a dream right now, no telling how long the Stock shocks will last. I'm starting to think about fog lights, seriously, i was looking at some Brabus style double fog lights with a custom housing to contain them within the area that used to be where the vents where. Also wanted to put in some eyelids possibly, so i don't have to get shit about fogging headlights.

Im not a huge fan of fog lights so my initial thought would be no, BUT, if i were to put some on i think the ones that you have chopped in there look pretty decent. I prefer the gaps that acura has left in there, it somewhat looks meaner with it like that... if anything i would probably prefer some sort of way to change the colour of those fixtures. Maybe some sort of silver or brushed metal alumi look of some sort.... maybe similar to the types of wheel finish that one has. I dunno, it may not look too sharp with some colours, but i think blk and ABP it could look sportier?!?!?

dare i say that i actually kind of like the kit on the black CL. i cant make myself like it on other colors, but it doesnt look bad on the blk. you need to run with no highbeams for a few days and clear up that foggyness.

You know, the kit is barely noticeable on a black car, but it def gives it a subtle flare, on the silver it shouts tho.
And the headlights are untouched and they fog up after it rains or after a car wash, pisses me off becasue when I want to go to the dealer, they clear up. Think I might clear them and empty out the moisture while I'm at it. I wonder where it's leaking from...
