I've got a question for everyone in this posting...

I've set up my GF's CL-S with a full comp tech suspention, 18x8 SSR wheels and 235x40x18 SO-3's. It looks great, but the rear rubs on occation. So now its time for new tires and I'm wondering this. Its time for new tires and the S0-3 is no longer available so i'm going to put on some 235x40x18 Potenza 050A on or some 225x40x18 050A Pole positions on. Will the nerrower sidewall of the 235 050 reduce the rubbing in the rear? can i get the rear rolled? Or do i go with teh 225? Normally rolling is the way to go, but the fender endge on these CL-S looks almost impossible to roll. Is this true?

I'll post some photos when i get home to make this a valid post ;-)

I'd suggest trying to grind down the fender lip, versus rolling it. I've tried to roll the fender on previous cars and ended up cracking the paint.

Stick with the 235's, because a 225 on a 8" wheel is too thin, imo.

I dont rub with 225/35/19 Nitto's in the back, and 235's up front, and when i replace them all i am going to go to 245/35's just for more wheel protection. Plus I hate how skinny the 225's look.

The 225's will ride worse too, and be more prone to wheel and tire damage.

I hit a pothole back when i had 225/35's up front and it didnt bend the wheel, but it put u bubble in the sidewall. The 235's up front have taken similar pitholes with no damage to anything, except maybe my blood pressure.

They use to be on TireRack, but no more. They are 18x8x37 with 235x40x18 mounted.
