Post pics of M5 Lip Spoiler

I'm trying to decide which rear spoiler I want to go with.. either stock version or M5 Lip spoiler. In my area, there's no one with M5 Lip spoiler so I've only seen it thru few pictures. If you have one, please post your pic!! Thanks

Advices will be appreciated!!

My advice: go with the m5 lip. It's cheaper, looks cleaner, and is more rare Here are some pics of it on mine:

If you want any different angles, just let me know.

Not the best pix but you get the idea. Honestly, stay away from the OEM. The M5 lip just fits the sleek flow of the CL better, but still breaks the sight line in the back. I think its probably cheaper too.

mine was a stubborn one, i ended up just bolting it on the trunk and in the process carving a line in my paint with a drill bit.

I bought Porsche GT2 tips and had them custom installed on my oem mufflers. I bought the tips alone for $150, plus installation which hurt my wallet. By the looks of it, you have an '03 CL-S, right? Would you be interested in swapping mufflers?

well if we just swapped, all you would need to do is unbolt your mufflers, ship em to me, and I send you my mufflers and they just bolt right up. The tips are already welded on, so you wouldn't have to do anything except bolt up the mufflers. I don't want to crap up this thread, but if you're interested at all, shoot me a PM.

FYI, we sell both authentic BMW M5 spoilers, as well as replicas. Believe it or not the Genuine BMW spoilers outsell the replicas 3 to 1.

BTW, nice pics guys!!

i bought mine off ebay for 40, got it painted for 45. but i dunno, like i said mine was stubborn and the sides were poppping up, but that could of been my fault for not cleaning the area well enough. also i never heated mine up like i heard you were supposed to do.....

Yea the genuine ones are the way to go. I have never heard anyone having a problem with that. Don't get the replica, just get one from junior. Service was great and fast shipping The install was very straight forward and fits perfect. IMO the ebay replica ones do not cut it

I dont know about that man. I have heard nothing but problems with the replicas- popping off, hard to fit, paint doesnt bond.

Great thread, and great pix, guys. This question has been very much on my mind. I'm curious, though; has anyone found any other lip spoiler that fits our 3.2 CLs? Something just slightly "heavier" than the very subtle M5 spoiler, like this '04 TL lip spoiler:

In any case, should I take whatever style lip spoiler to, say, Maaco to be painted? Or should I only count on an Acura dealership's body shop? Or DIY?

I dont know of any other spoilers that members have tried other than the m5 and the OEM. I imagine there is probably SOMETHING out there that is similar.
As far as the paint, stay away from maaco. Just call around to a couple local shops and get price quotes. Just make sure you have your VIN number so they can color match it. Then you could give them your engine bay too and have them color match that. I got my lip and engine bay for $110, which is pretty good.

anyone got the measurements for this lip spoiler?? i got a 1st gen and i know the m5 fits perfect on the 2nds, but im lookin for something for my trunk besides the wings-west retarded handle type-R bullshit and the OEM one.... and there's nothing else out there. i was lookin around ebay and saw replicas made to fit 5 different applications.... but if the genuine one is better, i was wondering how long it is ...

anyone?? TIA.

i doubt it will look good/fit well on the 1st gen. the 1st gen trunk isnt rounded well enough for a good fit. you can try though. probably be the first to have one

is the one from the custom car creation painted?? I'm talking about the OEM M5 Lip spoiler... if it's not.. it'll run me about 200 to get everything... seem little more than i wanted to spend... what do u think of getting a replica of acura OEM spoiler.. it runs about 220 painted...

If you want to have a bench to sit and have lunch on, then get the replica Acura OEM spoiler . Otherwise, go with the M5. It keeps it looking classy and sleek, but still breaks the sightline in the back. A good body shop should only charge like 60 bux max

ah well i dont expect it to fit without some modification... i figured i'd have to cut and re-shape or bend it or something along those lines to form to my trunk... what im more worried bout is how my trunk kinda slopes downwards...

ah maybe when i have more $$ to fool around with i'll give it a try.... later.

nice pics guys
