isnt the bump cuz he did something in his engine bay and needed that bump so that the hood lid wouldnt interfere with it? Maybe Im way off.

thats what I was thinking but I don't really know what you can put in a cl that requires a bump in the hood.
and as for the paint, I would assume its easier to paint the hood before you put it on the car?

If you search through some old posts, you'll recall as someone suggested that when we installed the direct port, the bent piping was to tall to clear the hood given engine movement under throttle. I have talked to Andy and he ran NOS brand while I used a NX kit. Not sure if this is why he didn't need to fab a hood bulge or if it was just my install. Trust me the lines look good, and once its painted (obviously it will be removed) it will look really good. But yes the only reason it is there is fucntionality.
No I don't think I'll be turboing anytime soon, given with the S/C there would just be no more room But yes I will be intercooling via the vortech design that Baty is developing. Once again due to the n20 setup, I'll not be able to utilize the awesome mantifold intercooler that Scalbert is working on. here's what the bulge is containing:

Ahhh, the ol' bump-in-the-hood trick...that's the meanest under the hood shots ever!
It would look cool if the whole car was painted (or unpainted) like the hood!

The costs would be prohibative, also this car will go down the track and win awards at shows, therefore it was important to have a functional system with aesthics when hood is open. The vortech intercooler will work just fine for my application and I won't need to make any modifications to the current setup.
To each thier own as far as style goes. This site proves that time and time again. I am sure there are many you who don't think my chrome rims look attractive, however to say it is the ugliest thing you've ever seen....makes it seem like you're trying to make a point versus just express your opinion. But I welcome it just the same, thanks for being honest and of course for keeping this site going. any other comments or beratings?

i think the bump would look dumb if it were symetrical.

i agree..i like the bump only on the one side.
it gives it the "yeah i only got a bump on one side...wanna see what its for?" kinda look
your going to get more people thinking that the bump is for something like that than people automatically assuming its there to look ricey.
just my opinion

One problem is that since the bugle is only on one side and not all the way over, we didn't have to modify, meaning cut, through any of the structual supports for the hood. There is a very large and important one the runs straight down the middle that would have needed to have been removed, thus compremising the structual integrity of the hood, if we were to make the bugle straddle the bisection of the hood. Thanks for the comments boys.
