"new" wheels

my winter wheels! OEM 2003 CL-S 12-spokes. needed some fixing up (as per the pictures) and i eventually got lazy with sanding (and they are my winters anyway so i don't really care.. but i fixed up the edge from curbing which is what i wanted) so the surface is not flat at all. but i like it

process:
1. if you're gonna try to remove the paint, get some good stuff. otherwise, don't bother. that's part of the reason why my surface is all lumpy (my aircraft stripper sucked)
2. bondo
3. sand/wet sand
4. dupli-color fillable primer x 3
5. dupli-color bronze wheel paint x 3
6. dupli-color wheel clearcoat x 2
and yes, the valve stems and my center caps are painted as well. the acura logo for the center caps came out shitty cause i had shitty black paint that was really sticky, but it is ok. i'll probably paint the tops of the OEM lugs next year when i'm not so lazy

before (previous owner must ran them off road on concrete or something.. all rims are F'D):

yea, I like the drop, but not a big fan of the tires/rims. I think "home painted" bronze rims never looks as good as rims that are made bronze, just my opinion. And I'm sure it looks better in person too.

I think they look a little better than what you had before and it's okay considering you said this is your winter set.

At least you painted the center caps!

the drop looks good.

you should have spent more time on sanding and filling up the holes/cracks, also while painting them.

I'll say the rims definitely look a little "rough" in the close ups. From wider shots they look pretty good, especially if it's the color you were looking for. I'd prefer silver, but hey, at least yours are little different than the pack. Hell, they're winter wheels, they'll look clean longer, and it's not like your going to be showing em off anyways.

With that said, this is a NICE shot, even if i don't like the color.
