New Suspension, Mountain Run, VIDEO
Not sure if this belongs here or in the suspension forum but mods can move it if necessary.
Just installed my eibach sportline springs from a 4 cylinder accord coupled with tokico illumina 5-way adjustable shocks.
Shocks are on the softest setting (1 out of 5) because I don't have the adjuster. Also have a 23 mm eibach rear sway bar and of course the eibach sportlines. Im using 235/40/18 falken tires
Video makes it look really slow but we're at about 60-65mph each turn at the top of 2nd gear, notice the VTEC spam. Cars all stock except intake resonator removal ahaha
Enjoy http://youtube.com/watch?v=C3wyUdHTQlk

Engine mods? haha im done with that part, was putting down about 240whp before I got caught by state ref and had to take everything off. Cars all stock now except intake resonator removal.

wait I see you own 2 sets of these, do each of your shocks have that black piece on the top of the valve? mine just have a hole with some lil nub inside that looks like it can be turned to set stiffness...

if you have the right tools to take the suspension out it shouldn't take you no more than a couple hours (or faster if you did it yourself, going off of not seeing posts you have made previously).
obviously the rear suspension is a pain because you have to take out the rear seat but that is just bolts and nuts you are dealing with.

I know you weren't trying to set records or anything, but just a word of advice. Try not to play with the throttle during the turn. You are constantly changing the weight transfer when you do this. So in a balls out run, this could lead to bad things. Practicing the right driving techniques during your everyday driving helps a great deed with implanting the correct way to drive in your head for future scenarios. Nice video.

so what do you do when ur on a curve? do u let off the throttle then accelerate? the car feels like it has a lot of oversteer so i usually engine break until the turn is complete.

From what it looks like you just adjust them from the top. It took me 3 hrs to install these yesterday, was my fifth time.
But thanks for the tip, the throttle on/off makes total sense because I could feel the car rocking.

It is pretty complex as I'm leaving out a lot of info. This can't be explained in one paragragh. In fact, every sentence I made can be extended to a paragragh each. Honestly, pick up a book about driving techniques and read it. If you want to take it to the next step, practice those techniques at the tracks. If you want to take it even further, there are classes you can take with a professional instructor to show you, "the line".

Blown is Best
You're missing the two plastic pieces that go into the top of the strut. Contact Tokico and they'll send you out some so you can adjust your struts. Rear is not accessable from the top so it's more challenging to adjust.

Yup called them earlier this morning they are sending me out those black/red pieces that insert on the top of the shock. How do you suggest I go about adjusting the rears? I dont mind taking out the back seats but that rear decklid cover is in the way.

Some say it's better to "pitch" the car into a turn, others don't. Some say you should always have your foot on either the throttle or brake, others might not. With beginer drivers it's recommended to do all your braking before a turn, when you learn advance driving techniques that can change depending on your prefernce. Some turns might require some throttle, while others may not. And then of course the car makes a difference as well. But the easiest way to put it is, with basic math. You use 70% steering traction, that gives you 30% acceleration/deceleration traction (The more you turn the steering wheel, the more you come off the throttle, and vice versa). Once you hit the apex, you do accel out at a smooth rate. What you do to get to the apex, depends on everyting I just mentioned. But the safe way would be to do all your threshold braking in the straight line, kind of cruise to your apex, then accel out. Again, that will change with more and more track experience. You can watch the above video I just posted of my friend and see some of the things I'm talking about.
