justmagnaflows.com or something. I don't need it to be more freer flowing, becasue as it is now, under WOT, it has a swooshing sound, like there's ,air being blown out. I guess since it is flowing so easilly.

So I'm not the only one with a CEL after installing a high-flow cat?

MSW had a Car-Sound cat hooked up, not an RT cat.

Did you buy an RT cat?

No, I have a high-flow cat that was made by a shop which in turn I bought of the black market. Installed and then the next day it threw a CEL.

Bummer...so where's the OEM cat? Did you give it to them so they can trash it? You know those OEMs are over $1000. Shit, you're better off buying the RT cat. Quit messing around and get it.

Ya, obviously I still kept mine since I live in Cali. But I really can't afford the RT one right now nor can I afford to put the OEM back one for a couple months. I hate being unemployed.

If a cat is installed correctly and in fact is coming from a good maker, the chances of it throwing a code is unlikely. But if it is installed wrong, it IS likely that the yellow engine light will come on. My cat was installed correctly, thus not having to worry about an engine code being thrown.

$199.25...damn.

I don't think that's including the install kit though.

It should pass visual, and most likely the sniffer. But if it's throwing a CEL, it won't pass.

I think I have an exhasut leak, it sounds like a swoosh or a hissing when I feed it heavy throttle. Gonna go back to the shop and have them take a look. Then I can make a good sound clip of the exhasut, which sounds better and better every time i drive the car. BTW, just got my tints put it, 20% black, looks great. All thats left is the lip spoiler which is on its way here from Cali...

Cost me just $200 to have the mufflers put in with custom flanges and the resonator replaced and welded in. I watched them do the whole thing, but the day i went, it was fairly slow, so they let me hang out. We eyed the pipes centered and they even let me try it out with and without the resonator to see if it needed it. I think they would be good if the tech is good, I mean they do have decent experience, and what is the alternative, some shady independant shop? As long as they don't fuck anything else up and if they warranty their work, you should be fine, just amke sure you tell em what you want exactly.

according to Excelerate's RT cat thread, this cat meets all requirements by the EPA and runs clean enough to pass California's rigorous smog test. i've read about another California CL driver on here that it'll surely pass.

i went to muffler shops like meineke and their welds didnt last over time, so i headed down to e-shift where i got top notch work. not to mention e-shift uses stainless steel where places like meineke will only use an aluminum.

I know we're in the same general vicinity; where is e-shift and what are the differences in installation prices between the two?
thanks.

Thats werd, you would think that Aluminum would be more expensive, I am almost positive that it is. I think it is a diffrent grade of steel because you cant inter-change welds of metel like that. Aluminum takes a tig welder if I am not mis-taken

alum rusts, stainless doesnt. those generic muffler shops will use the kind that rusts, maybe its not alum, but its not stainless. e-shift does mandrel bends and custom flanges.

ron - you need a mid pipe ;]
