Thumbs up New Custom Magnaflow axleback

Hi All,
I finally have it done this afternoon....the new custom Magnaflow axleback (#14832 mufflers). The installer did a great job....and pretty picky on the detail too..which is good (he measured everything to be exact).

I really like the look, and sounds just right....it's not loud at all...maybe it needs some more breaking in .....enough talk...here are some quick pic before it started to rain

Thanks. They are #14832 magnaflows, and they are mandrel bent piping. There is nobody around here (CT) that can do mandrel bent piping, so i went to a custom exhaust shop, and he ordered a pre-mandrel bent piping, and weld the flange and muffler himself. He even use stainless steel welding (not sure what that means).

I want to do things right, so that's the only way to go.

He ordered this pipe called Mandrel J Bend (2" dia., same as stock) - 1 piece. The end of that mandrel pipe shapes like U, so he just cut that in half for the bent from Y to the mufflers (left and right), add the 1/8 flange and welding

The 1 piece mandrel J bend cost me $50.81 before tax. Also, labor is pretty expensive here in CT. It took him 5hr to finish (make sure everything aligned properly) but his works sure looks impressive. The labor comes up to $380....little bit on the high side, but that's CT for you.

Let me know if you have other questions.

oh..one more thing...try not to go to places like monroe...my friend did that and they took out his resonator without being ask. They just did it because they THINK it'll sound better.....that was a mistake...

Find a good Custom Exhaust place.....with mine, the owner did it himself...I've also seen his other works...which is pretty impressive...

Good luck...and post your pics when you have it on

The mandrel J bent is 2", and the inlet of the muffler is 2.25". You can see that from the welding between the pipe and the muffler inlet.

looks great man. i hope these mufflers are loud enough for me. i want to notice the difference, but i certainly don't want it to be noisy. g35/350 loudness or maybe a little more is what im after.

im planning on headers at some point, too. that should make it a bit louder as well.

anyone have a video or sound clip of these mufflers on our car?

^^^ iwas just wondering the same thing...

headers will make a huge diff. i had headers on my OEM exhaust and it sounded like a G35.

well,
it's been a little over 2 weeks now, and it's definitely not louder than stock G35 or nissan Z. I've heard a couple clips around here before on these magnaflow, they're louder than mine. Not sure why, maybe i just have to wait longer. Overall, i really like the look of it.

hey brad. sounds like a heckuva deal you got there. there is a thread that has a guy who has various videos of idling, taking off etc. to find it, all you need is a quick search under Magnaflow.

and bim, that shit is hot!!

Thanks....so far i'm loving it...No droning what so-ever.

little_brad...make sure you install yours with mandrel bent pipe. If you can find a shop to mandrel bent, just buy the pre-mandrel bent one. Hope you like it
