Yepp I saw a guy do something similar on the 3g tl side also if I remember correctly. I have a company I've always used locally in the past for all my upholstery needs with great pricing. I love the way it looks and hopefully would like to get it done eventually.

Well I broke into the 12's on spray with my clutch slipping and letting out of the nitrous for a little in second gear. It was about 90-95 degrees out and very humid so I'm sure that didn't help at all. I ran a 8.32@86.92 1/8 and 12.81@110.04 1/4 with a 1.88 60ft. I only got to do one pass on spray and one n/a.
The n/a pass was horrible because I was feeling out the car to see how it reacted on the launch with slicks. I assumed I had a lot more time for passes than I expected so I didn't go all out. I launched the car at 4k and it bogged very bad the 60ft was a 2.07 lol 9.14@76.98 1/8 and 14.15@98.56 1/4.
I rented a dumb car dolly from uhaul and had huge problems loading the car on and off since I have the tl front lip. I had to use blocks to raise the car and make the ramps longer. I will never ever use one of those again lol. So that was very time consuming, we didn't end up getting to the track until like 8:30 at night. By the time I got my car in the staging lanes and they called for test&tune cars my first pass was at 9:54 and my second was at 10:56. The racing ended at 11:00 so I was shit out of luck.
I can always go again soon on a cooler night and a lot earlier this time so I can actually make some passes. All in all I was happy about how the car reacted. I didn't get any wheel hop at all. I learned I can launch the car basically off the 6k rev limiter and hook. I weighed the car and it was 3325 with a full nitrous bottle.
I know I can easily break 12.50's next time I go once I feel out the car some more and actually get to spray the whole pass without the clutch slipping. Especially if I have a new clutch and aluminum flywheel.
I forgot to bring the camcorder since I was in a rush and left it on the kitchen counter lol. I do have a cell phone video of my nitrous pass from my friend that was towards the end of the track. I will post that soon.
When I took my a spec wheels off I weighed them and my slicks just to see the weight difference. Here's a couple of pics from yesterday enjoy.

I went to the track tonight. I reached my goal on spray with the OEM slipping clutch and STOCK axles lmao! No need for traction bars or even has traction problems on slicks??? Slicks solve the problem period!!
I tried a few different things each run to see what works best, different tire pressure, different launch rpm, etc. Don't worry about my reaction times I wasn't paying attention to those. Here's one video N/A and two on spray. I will upload more pics and videos tomorrow, I'm tired so I'm going to bed. Enjoy!
N/A pass.

Thanks for all the kind words guys I really appreciate it! I'm glad to show you guys what these cars can really do when pushed a little further than people normally do!
This might sound crazy to you guys but I think it's safe to say I have the fastest full weight 03CLS6 in the united states with proof correct? There's only that one full blown cl tube chassis rwd drag car and that doesn't count lol.
I won't be going back to the track until I have a new clutch with aluminum flywheel, 255lph fuel pump, and up the shot to a 200. I'm going for a high 11 sec pass next!
I wasn't worried about my reaction times at all, I'm just glad I got to feel the car out more to see how it reacts and some more seat time at the track. Does anyone know if it's possible to remove the 6k rev limiter while the car isn't moving?
I know the trailer is dirty as hell it's been sitting outside for awhile, it gets the job done though lol. I used the da calculator on dragtimes and it says I should of went 12.20's at 113 corrected haha. You can clearly hear from the videos the clutch is very weak. One pass it actually slipped horribly so I just let out of it and cruised, I went faster than my N/A pass lol.
Here's a few pictures from my camera. I'm uploading more videos and my time slips soon. I'm still waiting on the professional pictures from the track.

Fries requests that you go back and run those times again, seeing as they are invalid
#372
I'm not going back at all until I have a new clutch and flywheel at the very least.
The OEM clutch can't hold good at all. Once I have those I can almost guarantee I will be even faster with just the new clutch and aluminum flywheel alone.

Here is a couple of pictures the way my car currently looks today. I'm re powder coating the valve covers a new color, changing the tube seals, and adding another p2r gasket on the manifold to keep my plenums off the valve covers.

Anyone know how to remove proof watermark from these pictures?

One valve cover down, one more to go. I decided to powder coat it wrinkle red. I think it turned out great, actually better than I thought lol. I should have the rear one finished within the next day or two. I have all brand new seals and gaskets so everything is fresh once it's all back together. I'm still waiting on my friend to make the spacer between the upper and lower intake manifold.
The car has been apart for about a month and I kinda miss driving it ha so I should have it back together shortly. I'll keep you guys updated!

Oh okay thanks!
Yeah I want to do something similar when the time comes. I'm definitely going to do red. I love the way it looks. What color did you have in mind?

I have a update. I ordered a few more parts for the cl a couple days ago.
Clutch masters stage 3 kit with aasco aluminum flywheel.
Csf custom aluminum radiator. Thanks to p diddy!
Red stuff brake pads front and rear.
Russell stainless steel brake line kit.
P2r intake thermal gasket. Two gaskets total and I'm adding a custom 1 inch aluminum spacer.
Tein super street coil overs. I bought them from a member on here cheap just to hold me over until I buy expensive ones.
I'm going to do the front caliper legend upgrade. While I'm at it I'm going to powder coat all the calipers and brackets gloss red. I think it will match the wrinkle red valve covers nicely and when I do the red leather interior upgrade in the future. What's your guy's opinion on that color?
I think that's it for now. I will post pics soon!

Thanks! $25 for 1lb of wrinkle red powder coat. We did them at my friends house in his garage. I'm going to buy my own powder coat gun kit within the next few days. I will save myself so much money in the long run. It's so simple.

actACCORDingly that's a very nice setup you have there! You think you'll make more than me on spray lol? I'm shooting for around 500whp on a 200 shot, give or take a little.

I installed my clutch tonight everything went smooth except for the very last part. It will barely go into gear while the engine is running and the wheels still spin very slightly while the pedal is pushed all the way too the floor. My clutch must not be fully disengaging obviously lol. I came up with the idea to make my own rod coming out of the slave cylinder. I made it about a 1/4 longer vs oem. It helped slightly but not enough. I know multiple said to make sure to space it out but I don't get where they are placing the spacer exactly. Please help me with ideas or pictures. It will help me out a ton, thanks!!
On a side note enjoy these pictures of what a oem clutch on a 137 shot looks like lol and a few of the new setup!
