hey guys,

im thinking of joining all of you and purchasing an acura CL-S, i just have a few questions on the model years. Is there any significant difference between the 01/02/03 model years that i should know about? Were there any common problems with the first year 01 Type-S cars that i should know about? I havent gotten out to my acura dealer to test drive one, but i plan on it soon. Hows the ride quality compare to other cars in its class?

whoa, that took me like 5 minutes to figure that shit out!!

 

'01-'03 all same, same HP, everything...excepts '03 are offered w/ 6spd stick, and all '03's have black headlamp housing, different 17's on the type-s models, and the tail lightsare clear on top rather then all red, and i think the 6 spd's have traction control...

problems...the CL-S is notorious for transmission failures on the auto's (tiptronic), also the car has rattles throughout it (ex. my sunroof, drivers sde door and dashboard had to be fixed), plus my car's airbag sensors are broken or some shit...

the CL type S is a hot car, and a lot of bang for the buck...but personally I had to do it all over again i wouldn't get it...i say get a 2001 S4, or 350z comin out (i know they're completely diff. from the CL, but it's up to you)
