That service by the body shop is awesome. Its a great idea to be able to check on your car through their website. Probably saves them a lot of hassles with customers checking in to see how things are going. A new trend maybe...? Lets hope so.
Well they said they're waiting on your insurance co before they start repairs.
My suggestion is call your insurance co to find out when the agent will actually go out there and be there for the estimate.

is that Inskip Acura in RI off of Rt2 because if it is i was eyeballing a car in the lot a while back that was a 6 speed. i know there is a black 6speed there now with 30k miles and they want 23,000 for it. and do not go through thier body shop, they absolutly suck and half ass the job, not to mention they drove my car for 200+ miles and used a tank of fuel. i was pissed and they knew it. but all in all they are a very good dealership with excellant people working there.
The reason they are waiting for insurance approval is because they want the okay to use a new trunk lid as opposed to a used replacement trunk lid....I guess thats a good sign. They have had the insurance estimate for weeks...

I wish I could say that was the case...as of today they were "puting the car on the frame machine" ?!? There was some debacle with the insurance company not knowing anything about the need to come out to see the car, blah, blah, blah
so I'm rockin' a rental malibu for a while longer
hopefully there will be some progress soon

Damn, for your sake, I hope so! I worked at a body shop for a little while. Chances are, if it's on a frame machine they are trying to find out it the rear end is straightenable. If not, they may consider it a total loss. Someone corect me if I am wrong here but our cars have a unibody construction. Meaning, no "frame". When you get rear ended, the part of the body your spare tire sits in is part of that construction that makes up the "unibody". If it gets bent, they have to use the frame machine to whip it back into shape. IF they can properly. Who knows... I'd be raisin' hell though! Good luck!
Well, I should be able to pick it up soon, but why the hell did they post a picture with a small tool box sitting on my roof?!?!?!?! I make every effort to not ever touch my paint or rest anything on the car...now I am always going to be thinking of that and I have to be sure to check the whole thing out carefully when I pick it up.
