headlight conversion...hit me with honest feedback

so i did a 2003 CL-like headlight mod, i changed it a little. it was a more time consuming and tedious process than anything. didnt think it was all that difficult. i ended up using a heat gun as opposed to the oven method cuz i was too scured. haha. sorry bout whoring this thread up with pics but some people might be curious about the process i went through. lemme know what u think, i feel like the pics dont quite do it justice but here they are....

i also decided to take out my stock intake return box out while i had the bumper off, may have freed up a little air/+HP?

so far no leaks...took the better part of 1.5 days

i think once i have my black 19's with the polished lip this conversion will look even better

He asked about his headlights, not his grille.

On topic: headlights look great man, that will probably be my next mod. How hard was the heat gun? Did it seem overly tedious?

it looks like you did a good job! is this your first attempt? lets hope the seals hold you and it doesnt condensate a few months down the road. not making fun, i just know its damn hard to seal it correctly.

front end looks alittle off now with the fog lamps, plans for 03 inserts?

how about cutting out the wing behind the grille

LOOKS GREAT!! the black theme really goes well with the tan body. Maybe smoke tint your fogs though, and get the matching black grill in the lower portion.

it was def time consumin doin it the heat gun, but i basically started at the pointy part of the headlight and heated up the factory seal then pry it open a little then just started cutting the seal with a utility knife...kept prying and cuttin till i got far enough that i could pull the remainder apart. like i said, i was just too nervous to put em in the oven and this way it was easier to monitor the heat.

think ima leave the foglamps for now, possibly a HID conversion i dont know yet. about cuttin the wing behind the grille....i do wanna get rid of it but for the sake of resale right now i can at least return it to factory if need be. plus im not sure how to mount the grille i have without it sandwiched between the 2 factory grille pieces. any suggestions on a different setup?

lose the blinkers in the headlights and get a body color grill trim and it will look better. i would have left the diffuser in also.

Yes this is true, but the gheyness of the emblem offsets his efforts with the grill

the orange (amber) reflector under the turn signal. I agree, the 03's don't look as good as the chrome 01-02's when they're cleared. Still looks good, though.

i think it looks better without the diffuser. if you were to leave it in, paint it black.

your resonator looks huge compared mine from my 01. my resonator also only has one hole instead of two like yours. it looks like air goes through your resonator and passes by mine. are they different? btw, i just took the box out of mine and let the down tube that goes in the resonator and the U tube in.

i just took that resonator box completely out so as to let my CAI possibly suck in more air than it was before when that box was in the way

i took my whole box out too but it looks very different. the only thing i can take out after that is the bottom of the filter box.

yours looks like a cube but mine looks shorter, not as tall. say yours is 7in x 7 in x 7in. mine compared to that is 7 in x 6 in x 4 in

Hey Brianlin87, you need to get off Acurazine and go get some pussy. It's obvious you feel you are king of this board, and I wonder why you even bother posting here. Apparently you have a fully done up car, and because of this you can bash other people's rides. Knowledge doesn't constitute being a dick.

Again bro, go get laid. The lack of pussy is really agitating you, I can tell. The way you throw around that noob word, lmao. You don't know me, fanboy.

uhm, ok. and i was off-topic HOW?

maybe you need to smoke some more johnblayz142; seems as if i'm not the one agitated. then again i'd be pretty pissed too, if my car looked like EVERY OTHER CAR on this forum.

if you wanna keep sh!t talkin - just PM me, i'd more than welcome to school you on everything you need to know about your car, life and whatever else you wanna know... since i am the king of the board and all.
