Didn't Like 18's - Threw Some New Si Wheels On! *8 Pics*

I didn't like my SSR GT3 replica wheels so I picked up another set of Si wheels from a local guy. They're the 2006 Si wheels this time so they're slightly lighter in color, I prefer this look hands down. Really seems to contract nicely with the limo tint, let me know what you guys think.

Oh, and, my next mod will be Tein Basic coilovers, slamming it all the way down most likely as low as I can go, just like I did with my Prelude in the past.

Here are some pics before it gets slammed:

Looks good. What is the offset of those? What tire size?

They seem to flow very well with your car.

Thanks dude, I agree. They're 17x7, +45 offset, 215/45 tires. I think they'll look even better when I drop it another inch or so. I can't decide if I should do a TL front lip up front or not. I really think that it gives the CL a more of a Honda or Civic type of look, if that makes sense. I'm not sure if I'm the only one who feels this way or not.

I must say that the Si wheels look great on the CL. I may keep those in mind in the future.

Yeah I did think about them, but isn't there a pretty big price difference between the two? I thought Tein Basics could be found for $699 or 799 or something online? And the K-Sport coilovers were like $1K? Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

just so you know the basics, or any tein coilovers will ride like shit if you slam them all the way down.
Hmm.. I'll have to see how it feels because on one of my Prelude's and my IS300 I had them slammed as long as they could possibly go on Tein's, then Ground Controls, then Skunk2's, and the ride was always stiff, but never too horrible. I guess I'll just see it feels, but I'll definitely take that into consideration, thanks bro. Maybe I'll go a 1/2" from all the way slammed.

Yeah I am confused because I have heard the Tein Basic's were superior to the K-Sports too!

i have ran both, search my car and you can see some of the pics from when it was slammed allll the way down on my teins and it was no where near as low as i am on the ksports(which i have lowered maybe a little more than 1/2 way down). the ksports have a ton more adjustability and they are exactly what you need if you want to be slammmmmed. for mild drops i would say the teins are fine, but not for riding really low.

cliffs: ran teins for a while and sold for ksports....never looked back...

K-Sport Pro coilovers, but I can't decide if I should use the aluminum topmounts that come with the coilovers or just buy 4 new OEM topmounts to minimize noise, increase stock feel, etc.

i'm pretty sure the top hats are specifically designed to hold the coil in place. you could possibly cut a nice rubber spacer to put between the top hat and the body to eliminate metal on metal contact.

Thanks guys, yeah I'm not sure what I'll do about the topmounts yet, I'll have to wait to get them in the mail. And finally my custom dash kit came in for my navigation unit, and I got it put on. Here is the before picture:

And here are the after pictures, look how much more OEM the unit looks:

One of our vendors, Travis Leonard - uncald4@gigharborautoworks.com, did an absolutely PERFECT job on this kit. His customer service is a 10/10, and product was also a 10/10. Worth every penny, highly recommended!

Digg It

I dig your ride...I have the SSM 03 as well...and I like what you did with the Navi and the shifter and the 4 pipe exhaust (not seen that before, is that a 1 off?)

Agreed about the dash kit, makes a huge difference

And about the system, nope, nothing in the trunk at all. I keep my trunk completely empty.

Anyway - about the exhaust. They're Magnaflow mufflers and custom piping all the way back. They sound pretty good, but the XS headers is really what made them sound amazing.

Here is a sound clip, I can't get over how much better they look than the stock exhaust!

Really sounds 10x better with XS headers. Anyway here is the stock exhaust:

And here is the quad:
