Clicking noise is driving me crazy

In the morning on my way to school, there will be this clicking noise coming from somewhere behind the radio and air conditioning area. I noticed that when it clicks (multiple times), the gear that im in on the left of the speedometer flashes until the clicking stop. It seems like this only happens in the morning. Any idea?

Thanks.

RavinGazN, you might wanna get that flashing speedometer gear light fault checked, I got a recall certificate saying that was part of the transmission recall. You're one of the lucky ones, if your getting a fault for your tranny and not gear slippage and revving just yet!!!!!! Might be worth it, especially since your still covered under warranty.

On alot of CL's the clicking noise that you hear is coming from the pcs (purge control solenoid) valve, which is part of the evaporative emissions system. The valves constant click is necessary for the system to work smoothly. The valve cycles on/off allowing the proper amounts of fuel vapor to return to the gas tank.
