my brother had a 1st gen cl about 3 years ago (lots of work done) and gave me alot of ideas for the car. ive got a 2nd gen black type-s AT. ive spent countless hours looking around the threads to find a pic and have done numerous photo shops but cant get the right color. has anyone done their hood like his on a 2nd gen?

are you talking about smoothing the hood like you did in your photoalbum? if so...god no i hope no one has. that is insanely hideous. its a CL, not a nascar buddy.

 

 

ive never seen someone put eyelids on the taillights. and i hate the grill removal!

not to be an asshole, but that means absolutely nothing. i have been to car shows all the time where some of the shittiest cars won awards. they must have had low standards.

Absolutely hideous!!!! I dont know why anyone would want to make their car look like that. IMO the Grill on a car makes or breaks it, and to completely remove it and make it look like that is Disgusting!! _And that trunk.....I dont know whats up with that, but it just makes me dizzy!!

Anyhow, I don't know of anyone here that has done this mod to a 2G CL.
Everyone has there own preference on how they mod there car, do it and let us see how it looks!

ok... in the last sentence of my first post i asked " if anyone has done their hoods like his on a 2nd gen?" and the person talking about low quality shows try nopi nationals... u know the huge car show every year in september at atlanta motor speed way... i guess ill be the first to do this and im sure there will be haters that think cl grille if the best thing that happened to them. for those of u who would like it thanks for those of u who dont oh well dont look at it.

Just a question... wouldn't doing that to the hood restrict incoming air getting to the radiator? Wouldn't it cause over heating issues? Not that I would do it, I'm not a fan of it, but I'm just curious if that would have any negative effects on the performance of the motor?

 

i was thinking of that too but i think the bottom grille will take care of that. on my brothers it started to get tranny issues but thats only cause he didnt get a cooler for it. so with a cooler i think its going to be ok. im trying to make the car look like nothing else, no other car or cl.

Well, a tranny cooler wouldn't really make a difference because it usually straps to the radiator, so if your radiator isn't getting any direct cool air, the tranny cooler wont either. Hey, we're all different, so good luck on modding it, but I personally think our CLs need very little to look perfect.

I've seen that car in person before. I used to show with that club. A few of the cars in wTn were riced out.

no shit,which car was yours? if u stay in the same area u will prolly see me around in the summer with it done. the pics dont do the car justice. when he first told me he was going to do it i told him to kill himself but after he got it done i couldnt say shit cause it looked nice, and better than all the CL's in that body style.

 

I don't like how it looks, but then again, I don't like how the 1gens look at all. So I'm curious to see what it will look like on the 2gen.
