meh...it looks good but its true you need a drop. with big rims like that it makes the car itself ride high as hell...its not the wheel gap thats so nasty its just the overall height of the car..do you have any problems rubbing?

OMFG Dude, where's the pics of the clowns jumping out?

If those wheels stuck out any more they'd be in another zip code.

Check it B, no need to be mad at the world, to each it's own, if you like it, then rock it, but be easy, besides, when something is wrong, here is the first place you look. If you were going to do 20's you should of at least went easy on the width, that thing is going to rub.
Good luck with that...

I remember that thread. I thought it was pretty entertaining. Yankees and southerners and such.

But same thing. Long as woodgrain likes it nothing matters.

With the offset that was chosen with this set of wheels, I don't think that it's actually possible to lower the car now. I agree that rubbing is going to become an issue.

how can we think it looks horrible if we DON'T look at it?

for 20's, i thought they wouldn't fit as well as they do, but if you went w/ a higher offset, or smaller width or something, they might sit in the wheel well better

what are the specs on the rims?
diameter is only one dimension out of 3 that are probably pretty important
20X?? +??

Yup, itty bitty 18s. 3-piece Racing Hart C2s. 18x8 +50 offset.

But guess what? They fit the car. Guess you weren't smart enough to research your setup before putting them on. Oh and best of luck with those.

^ NSXNEXT - I'd put my money that your 18s with tires cost twice as much as his 20s did. All that chrome is just waiting to crack on the first pothole anyway.

Nobody was talkin crap until you called people ricers and yankees, just for tellin you 21's wouldn't work. The only thing they were doing is telling you the car would look like a 4x4 if you got 21's to fit.... And the evidence you posted in this thread proves them right. With 20's it still looks like the car is in danger of falling over in a stiff breeze with such a high center of gravity.

And look around the site a little bit, find a pic of just two ricer CL's on here, and post the pics. I guarantee you won't be able to find more than one. All the tips on this site are tasteful and true to the quality of the car. So take your judgemental shit back to "your people" and take a look at this car if you want to know how to put 20's on a CL with a little class.... https://acurazine.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169428

Well, if your friends are anything like you appear to be then I can see why they say that. Totally your right though, years and years of threads, discussions, and trial and errors dont even come close to matching your awesome car knowledge

Looks absolutely horrible IMO. Without body modifications (i.e., widebody kit) you shouldn't go any larger than 20"x7.5". Wheels like that don't look good on a car like the CL-S... actually those wheels are pretty fucking ugly to begin with... let alone on that car. Enjoy it though!

IMO, it doesnt look bad from the side, but the rims do stick out a bit, which will most likely cause major rubbing when making a turn...or dented fenders if you hit a bump or pothole. (can you make a Uturn?)

i have 19s and i think they look small...wish i would have gone with 20s, but everyone said "NO...DONT PUT 20s". there's a local CL that has 20s, slammed and it looks beautiful sux that i spent a couple grand on rims and i didnt get something that i was completely satisfied with.

it is a bit harsh when someone wants to put 20s and everyone bashes it with "ghetto", "4x4", or "it cant be done".

that TL with 21s definitely looks BIG FOOT like...and it's raised

i'm shopping for my 20s...

WOODGRAIN - everyone here is entitled to their own opinion. some prefer 18s, some prefer 21s, but this site is great for anything needed for your Acura.

Just get what you want to get, i dont think 20's look good on our cars except when they are bagged or extensive body mods done to them. If you are planning to do that then hell yeah get 20's but riding on springs and not air looks too big when you have 20's
