18" RH Evo Z5000 & Tein Drop
This is the way Acura should ship the car. Or make it a Sport Package. 18x7.5 RH Evo Z5000 +42 w/ 225/40/18 Pirelli P7000 SS tires. Suspension is Tein SS Damper, 7 spins up in the front and 8 in the back.
Before Tein (a la Ford Offroad Package)
Straight out of the box:
Remember to mark the coil-overs to you may count the number of complete spins of the collar. I used Rose Passion nail polish, but you may use whatever color gives you the warm fuzzies.
Front shot lowered. Can you spot the ClearBra? No.. cuz it's clear!
Side profile:
So my question to y'all... it looks a little uneven. I think I shall raise the rear one or two spins to get it just right. But part of me wants to drop the front a few spins. However it is already lower than Tein advises so I am losing some valuable suspension travel.

Hey I think I did see you!!
Looks good, but I agree, you need to raise the rear up just a little, but otherwise, very nice.. very clean rims!!
I wish I would have waited a little longer to buy a car.. I want a six!!

When I look at it again, seems as though I should have a few subs in the trunk to explain the difference.
You can look at my stick. It's a trade-off: my girlfriend says that after adding the headers and CAI, the added power makes it a little more of a bearish manual. On/off power is more distinct. She even had the gall to say "I think the car is too powerful now." WTF, over? Time for a new girlfriend. With the auto it does classy smooth shifts and all that.

I really liked the look of the Yokohama Kreuzer V, but the price tag. Holy cow. These are pretty similar for half the price; I am happy with the purchase.

Here is a close-up:
What's next on the list? Saving money. Must not spend more on car.
ClearBra of Oregon. Cost $695 for the bumper, 1/3 of the hood, the quarter panels, door trim and handles, and side view mirrors. So far it is awesome. Repels everything short of sledge hammers falling from the sky (local news event). The true test will be my drive from Oregon to Florida in September. I'll do my part to rid LA of the mosquitoes.
I raised the rear 2 complete spins. Much more even, but I think it can come up even one more spin.

Here are three pictures of the adjusted drop. This time they are ~250K/1280x960 pics.

trying to get a lil V-I
there's a TEIN recommended height drop spec? How come I didn't read this...oh I forgot, the instructions were in Japanese.
Anyway, what exactly is the recommendation? I just spung the damn thing and measured with a ruler. The I did the same thing on the other side of the car. Worked pretty good, but I'm sure it's not 100% accurate.
here's where I have mine set at:

Going from memory (I don't have the instructions here) Tein recommends 1 3/8" from the bottom (35mm). Yours looks about that. Mine may be a little lower, or it could be the sidewall bend difference between stock tires and 40 series.
Final spins are 7 in front and 11 in the rear. Front is just ever so slightly lower than the rear.
I have not measure with a tape yet, but will do that tomorrow and let you know the amount of drop.

Price for performance I think the Teins are the answer. Around $900 for height and 16-way stiffness adjustment makes for a very good setup.
I've uploaded all the images to one of my ATTBI accounts and then use the IMG code. Last pictures are a link since I didn't want to make the post too heavy for people using that dialup thing.

After riding around for a few weeks and then seeing Mattg's car, I think I may lower the front one spin to give it a little more aggressive stance.
Hopefully I can squeeze in an alignment tomorrow morning to see what the camber is front and rear.

Ya, I know. I want to see the camber #'s because I want to lower the car some while maintaining spec. 97124's looks lower and his rear meets spec so I think we're in luck.

Good thing I got the car aligned this morning. I had -.42 total toe in the front! No wonder it pulled funny.
Final camber stats are -.4LF, -.8RF, -1.3LR, -1.8RR. Hmmmm, my car leans to the right it seems. Looks safe to drop the front a spin, maybe raise the right side 1/2 spin to help equalize side-side camber.

Kalin,
Did you notice anything weird when you go about 80-85 mph?
When I first go the 19 C5's it was fine, but when I drop the car, it's smooth all the way up to about 85 mph, then I can feel my steering wheel shake. Do you have this problem.?
I took my car to Les, and had them check out the balance of the wheels, and they were pretty much perfect.. so the only thing I can think of is the suspension.. but it dosen't make any sense.

97124 - I have not experienced any wheel vibration. Car pulled to the right like mad before the alignment, but since then it drives pretty nice. What road where you on when it shook? Maybe our lovely ruts mated w/ 235 tires and camber caused it if the balance is ok? Unless Alta forgot to replace some bolts I don't see how/why the suspension would shake at 80+...
SFLA - Thanks!

Hey kalin or whoever w/ teins. when you adjust the height by measuring or just do even spins on for each side? does that make sense? because the gap in my passenger front is bigger than the driver's side, but i have even turns for both passenger and driver's.
should i even them out by lowering/raising one side even though?

Kobe98,
When I had mine installed by the shop, they did it by measurment, because, they told me that with coilover setup such as Teins, it's better to do both. They kept track of the spins as they were measuring the hight. But I can't remember now if the number of spins was different on both sides though.
Plus, this might seem like a very simple concept, but I actually know a lot of people who install their coilovers on an uneven surface. Which cause the drop to look uneven as result..
BTW, how do you like the Comptech Sways in combo with your Tein's?? I thought that it would be enough to just lower the car to get rid of the annoying swaying.., but I think that it could be better.. is it worth the money?
Thanks,

I lowered mine by the number of spins, but evidenced by my alignment specs the passenger side is lower than the driver. I have not measured the drop yet or closely visually compared side-side but it seems as though they look about the same.
The sways are a great compliment to the suspension. The Tein springs are too soft for such a heavy car, so any additional benefit from stiffening other components will benefit. Another $250 for sways is well worth it.

Kalin,
Did you get them at Speed Concept? Did you also installed them yourself? Last, is it $250 for both front and back, if so, I'm going today!
Thanks!

Car looks sweet. do you notice any power lose or slower accel. going to 18" I know they are lighter than stock, or did you get any gains or is it about the same as stock. I'm looking at these rims too. my main concern is losing accel. going to 18.

As for the sways, like kalin said it's a great compliment. I got the H&R's first and the handling got better, but I was surprised of much difference it made with the springs. It's just as good with the teins. You should definitely get it.

Quick question, does the clear Bra take Zaino well? And if it does when zaino is applied previous to the clear bra does it make it stick any better or worse? Thankx BTW the ride is wicked.
