Dyno result and question

Well, I went to the dyno today to make sure the car was running right and to see what the numbers were. It's late so I might post the graphs tomorrow. Anyways, I was supprise. Besides the SC belt slipping, I need a new belt as we tighten this one as much as possible, the car made 309 whp @ approx 6 psi of boost. We didn't tune with the e-managment today due to the belt but air, fuel, etc. looked good.

I would guess that once the belt is replaced and I am able to run the 9 or 10 pounds of boost I should be at approx. 340. The assumption being 10 whp for every pound of boost. This might be wrong but I believe it's true form what I've heard. And when I get get the money for the custom 3in cat back exhaust with test pipe I should be somewhere in the range of 345-350. And of course there is the ability to still tune e-managment, so maybe even more.

Of coure this could all be just me pumped but damn I love this car!!!!

Now for the question - I was told to expect the check engine light to come on and it is. I tried doing some hard pulls in third like a member suggested. But nothing, its still on. I believe the code it threw was missfire on cylinders 2 and 4, which occurred during decelaration while on the dyno. Anyways, how do I get the light to go off?

Thanks to all the great people on this board. Clinton

nice numbers, the hope intercooler really works wonders.

to clear the misfire code, i have a scanner tool which i reset my CELs with or you can reset battery or fuse which resets the ecu.

once tuned hopefully misfires go away. good luck and nice numbers again.

i would take it to a shop or discount autoparts and just have them clear it with a scanner. in my old s14 i used to just disconnect the battery and hit the brake pedal for about 10 seconds, it would clear the CEL. i don't know if the second method would work on a honda though.

I dont think you will break 350whp. All of the guys with the j32a2 auto and hope systems are dynoing around 320 or so. This includes bigguyonabike and also 02av6 whom both had around 320whp. Good numbers though!

Thanks you all...will disconnecting the battery tomorrow. Well blk2001tlon19s one can hope...and you are right about big and 02 being around 320. I do believe Scalbert was around 330 and what did Allmotor (sc not turbo) end up with? I think it was like 347. Either way still have some thing to do so only time will tell.

I wasn't trying to down your #'s by the way, just going by what I have seen. Also what kind of dyno was this on? Dynopack, Dynojet or Dyno Dynamics or Mustang Dyno? If you are on a dynopac dyno, they usually read a little higher from the ones I have seen. Good luck.

I think Scalbert got higher then that but he was a 6 speed I believe. Allmotors first dyno numbers with the original turbo setup was like 3?? something, I cant remember. You could always add a little shot of nitrous to kick the car in the ass to make it go even faster

nice numbers! make sure the belt is tight and you should be see around 8psi. 320whp is about what you'll expect with a dynojet. that's good for 12 sec runs.

Tommy - transmittio cooler is installed

Sun Diego - pic are post in another thread....Tile is Ron Jon/SC/IC....search under threads started by me....I post pic last week.

BigGuy - yea as I said we tighten the belt to the best of our ability, but the belt I have is a gattor back or something like that. I looks like a tank tread. Any ways I was told that the belt is design to last longer because of these treads but that these treads also do not allow the best to make full contack with the pully so we believe that is the reason it is slipping. One other thing.....why only 320 at 8 psi.....as I posted above, I would have thought more....not that I am complaining.

basicly from experience, i've dyno my car many times with the same set-up. 320whp is about the max an auto can do with that amount of boost. that's not bad IMHO. i wouldn't recommend going over 8psi unless you plan on running 100+ octane.

thanks bigguyonbike, so you have the same set up.....what numbers did you end up tunning e-management to....reason I an asking is my car was running fine according to the guy at the dyno but may need to be fine tuned with the increase of bost. I am using the setting that came with the unit...it was used.

on the passenger sides fuse block, pull out fuse number 13. Wait a minute or two, then push fuse back in. Your ECU will be reset and you won't have to reset the radio and navi. This is much faster than disconnecting the battery.

oh, and good numbers by the way, scalbert got 370 to the shoes, his sas a 6 spd though, nice job, you'll get more than you'll expect, just keep working at it.
