Well, I just had to try some 100 octane; the CL-S was mighty happy.
Too bad the car was filled to the brim with cargo (sorry no GTECH times).
Here is the picture (and thanks for the info I got on finding the station).
The guy was really nice. The price on the 100 octane is correct. If you have an old Hemi, this is the place. The other prices are NOT current

I thought some places around a drag strip always sell 100 octane? That is why some people purposely drive with little gas to the strip so that they would be able to fill all 100 octane?

If you mean did I think it was worth it just to try it -- Yes.
Perhaps, putting in a few gallons from time-to-time would be interesting.
I don't have any hard figures for anyone. (Yet)

carclub. 10% off gas. I use it when Im buying 93 at mobil. its usually 1.78 and i only pay 1.60 per tank. so if you use carclub for a tank that's 4.25/gallon if u put 10 gallons in u would save over 4 dollar

Actually, I remembered the days when I had my bimmer with milled heads and special pistons *and* 92 octane (sorry, no ping sensors). I really had to fight to get good enough gas, and it did make quite a difference in performance (old time story).
I was hoping to figure out (one day) what the minimum amount of 100 octane would be needed (if any) to the car's tank to get full power.
Before I get busted for speculating, I just couldn't find any specs or information on when or if the ping sensors retard the ignition in our cars.
If anyone had been to the track or made some GTECH or track runs with/without high octane in their vehicle, let me know.
I plan on trying a GTECH run once I can get the gas tank level back to the 1/4 mark and around 40 degrees.
BTW -- It's probably the the placebo effect, but the car feels great.

Note: At time of 100 octane fill-up, there were 7 gallons in the tank. 10 gallons of 100 octane were added to the 91 octane Shell gas.
Octane equivalent of both gases blended together = ((100 * 10) + (91 * 7))/17.0 = 96.3 octane.
I finally used enough fuel (after the top up)to get the fuel gauge down to the 1/2 full mark.
The car is now ripping the front wheels off.
So, get that 100 octane (or at least mix in some higher octane) gas when you go to the track or want some very expensive fun.
BTW -- CLPower says he had a great run at the track by switching to 100 octane gas (ask him).
BTW #2 -- Our fuel gauge is off (like most cars). When the gauge says 1/2 tank, it only had 7 gallons it (at least mine does).
