Your experience with Rotoras?

I just got back from the dealer and they wouldn't replace/resurface/turn my OEM rotors a 2nd time (I had 49.95k miles when I went in )

I want to buy the rotoras but I have a few questions first.

1. Are they as prone to warping as the OEM rotors with normal use? (I did a search and one member with rotoras warped his...)

2. Installation: Did you pay someone to do it, or did you do it yourself? If you got someone, how much did you pay if you don't mind stating. If DIY, easy?

3. What pads did you go with and how was your experience with them?

Thanks guys, I did a search, but didn't see any recent experiences on this.

well i can't say for sure because i am installing my rotoras and new pads tomorrow but here's my experience and what i found when searching....

i installed regular powerslots with some no name pads that i regret buying, ive used the powerslots before on other (lighter) cars and they were pretty good, i think the guy who installed my 18s put my lug nuts on too tight but i'm pretty sure the slots are warped, i get that disgusting wheel shake on braking and some bad screeching, this is after about a year

so i went back to the drawing board to do some more homework, a FEW people have warped their rotoras, i've seen more than one complaint, but the general public seems to be pretty good with them, so i bought rotoras for all around, then i chose to go with EBC Greenstuff because i've heard a ton of good stuff, low dust, good stopping power, long life

i paid 301 for all 4 rotors, i paid 99 for front/rear pads, i figured for 400 for parts for a full round brake job, that was pretty damn good considering the dealer wants like 600 and they would just be using shit OEMs with regular pads

i will be doing the work myself, brake jobs are pretty routine, you just need a good wrench, an impact screw driver, and your pretty set, but i have also paid people to install new rotors/pad combos, and if i supplied the parts, they charged me 90-100 to do fronts

I wish! I doubt my OEM Rims would even fit a BBK, nor do I have a 1000+ to spend on it

one more question:
how safe is it to be driving around with warped rotors? right now I only feel the wheel shudder when I brake exiting the highway, will it get worse? I wonder how long I can hold out...

exactly, id rather spend 400 and do it myself then spending 1,000+, i;ve been driving around on them warped for a little while, just watch your braking, i notice it gets worse when doing medium braking, if i slam on it it tends to not shake, i dont know but personally id try to fix it asap bc its emabarrassing when you got a lady in the car and their like why is the car shaking?

I have had the Rotora slotted rotors on all four wheels for about a year. I went with the Axxis Deluxe Plus pads and Vavoline synthetic brake fluid.

I have not had any warpping problems with the new Rotoras. Stopping power is a little better than OEM. I really like the Axxis Deluxe Plus cermanic pads. No squeaks, very little dust, rotor friendly and long life.

The only disappointment I have with the Rotora rotors is the rust. They seem to rust up quicker than the OEM. Wears off after a couple of taps on the brakes.

I bought my rotors from www.streatbeatcustoms for about $300 shipped.

I have the ROTORA slotted rotors, front and rear, with Axxis Ultimates. There is a lot of bite in the brake pedal now and no more vibrating rotors for me. Check out my GB on ROTORA rotors. The shipment arrives Monday.

i only got to install the fronts today, wheel shake is now nonexistent, i have some squeaks but i kind of expect that from new brakes, its getting better, slowing down on the highway is a lot better now, when i get to the rears i'm thinking the brakes will be perfect for what i need
