Has anyone experienced what some of the TL owners are experiencing with their factory paint jobs?

This particular problem has me a bit worried, as I'm debating on whether to buy a CL-S. The car will be garaged, but it will be out in the elements as I'll be commuting to and from work in it.

Any comments are welcomed.

 

Well, I havent had that problem yet... cuz I havent owned any of my 3 Acuras for more then a year.

But two of them I crashed... so i can give my view on the paint (on the hood at least) from the accidents.

When I crashed my '99 TL (Naples Gold)... the paint simply cracked and flaked at every bend in the sheet metaal... and it peeled right off the bumper.

Scary.

But when I crashed my '01 CL (Red)... the paint did pretty well... flexing flowing with the bends in the metal.

If this has any reflection on anything I dont know...

but i felt like tellin ya...

and I think it does show a difference in quality between the two paint jobs... what relation to what that has, dont know.

 

Other than rock chips on the hood because of the slope, no problems here. It's as blue/black as the day I bought it a year and a half ago.
