Yet another Header question (or two)

For those of you who have headers installed, do you notice an improvement in intial stop to go (low end?) acceleration, or only at higher (passing) speeds?

Also, do you notice a decrease in gas mileage or is it about the same?

THanks!
Wayne

Haven't installed mine yet... but from the cars I've been in... you feel a little bit down low... but it rips in the mid and high range.

On the OBX headers you feel a little more down low then the Comptech... but they are really very similar.

i got obx's on my auto(of course),

you feel the gains at around 3500-4000 k on the tach, but the first time you floor it in first gear and get into vtec is just amazing, the tach needle literally fly's to the redline, its just crazy, best 375 i ever spent on the car

as for gas mileage, it should be just about the same but u like to get into vtec more when u got the headers and your mpg is prolly gonna drop, i'm only gettin 15 mpg now cause i'm goin WOT sooo much

Headers and AEM CAI or Icebox, and you're on the way!

In my experience I feel a little difference low to mid-range, but when it opens up above 5,000rpm it absolutely S C R E A M S !! I love it!
Oh and as far as gas mileage I haven't calculated as I am still on the same tank which I installed them but I imagine it will improve under normal conditions, at least it did with my Accord. Of course if you floor it everywhere it will not be good...

damn, my car responds alot better to the slightest pedal pressure, shorter pause from when the engine wails and when it actually takes off, and higher midrange. I notice a slight increse up top, mostly down low and mid range. i only have OBX headers and HKS exhaust. great mod, go for it.

ok I've been against headers because of high cost,, now that the price is low and the cost of gas is high,,, has anyone done a mileage MPG test at a 70 mph,, Before and after headers. I know about the gains at higher rpm's,, but 99% of the time I'm at 2k rpm in 5th gear.

I don't notice too much in the low rpm range (and the before and after dynos dn't show much there either) but above 400rpm you really notice a difference. As mentioned above...vrooommmm!!!! Our cars do alright off the line anyway!

As for the gas mileage...if you are playing a lot you won't get better gas mileage. If you "Behave yourself" you should see a little improvement.
