E46 M3 (convertible though.. ) rolling from 25mph... 1st.. I spin.. he takes 1/2 car. 2nd, I pull 1 car (meaning I am half-car ahead).. 3rd I pull another car (1.5 cars ahead)... and then we cut it. He is just totally upset... says that his car is heavy and that a hard-top would smoke me... yeah right! I can't say I will beat a hard-top E46 M3, but it might be even.

I said my car was stock

yeh how that comptech clutch upgrade holding up since u got it put in right this time.

 

Dunno yet... we'll see if it breaks! That's what I am afraid of. Feels good after today's little spurt... although I am a little weary about taking it to the track.

Don't know about that... I will probably baby the car a tad at the track... if it hits 13.7 or 13.8... I am sure it has another 2/10th-3/10th potential with more aggressive driving

doesnt matter though. if he runs a 13.8, you know on the next pass he'll go for broke.

whats the point of lying and saying its stock?? i mean you get into a friendly race with a fellow enthusiast and you feel the need to lie and say your shit is stock??? your car is one of THE furthest CL-S from stock on this forum, at least as far as powertrain modifications go.

M3... ~3500lbs/330hp
CL-S.. ~3400lbs/260hp

Umm... doesn't add up! Of course the guy knows I am not stock - rather obvious.

There is some history behind this. A looong time ago when I had my Civic (12.2's NA), I ran a Ferrari 356. I fooled around with him and eventually he asked me (via the blonde next to him)... what on earth I had on my car. I said it was stock.. just a 92 Civic VX Hatchback. I then proceeded to ask him if his Ferrari was a 'kit-car'! You should have seen the look on his and HER face... priceless.

Most folks with expensive cars... have some ego (not that I don't have any...but that's a different thing ). Anyways... back to the M3. The FIRST thing the guy told me when we had our windows rolled down was an excuse that his car is heavy.. blah, blah, blah. It's true to an extent... but he was obviously quite upset that his M3 was beaten by a measly CL-S (that looks stock). The direction of the conversation was really dictated by my first impression of the chap....

I don't think its a big deal... if a Civic beat me on the street... I KNOW he has something under that hood - very obvious!

and being like ahh it's stock.

If they can't tell its super or turbo charged they deserve to be fooled.

Good kill ALLMOTOR......IMO with almost 112mph u should have smoked him more than 1.5cars. U will smoke all M powered cars with that trapspeed and would be even with the Z8. A friend of mine has a hard top SMG M3 and the best he could run was 13.2 at 105mph. So u will smoke a hardtop M3 for sure.

Why would someone take the turbo out and go back to N/A? Did he have problems with the turbo?

Yes i was impressed too from the 13.2 at 105. He ran 11 times 9 were 13.3 at 104mph and one 13.2 at 105 and one 13.6 at 103 because he didnt shift to 4th.
