Feel free to put whatever pulley you want on your car. The UR pulley is 0 gram balanced and CNC machined and it is balanced better than the pulley it replaces. I don't know the exact X gram balance on the stock pulley, but if you feel comfortable putting the pulley on your vehicle then that is all that matters. I have UR pulleys on my vehicle and I wouldn't risk the cheaper pulley b/c who knows what quality control or actual testing is done. Therefore, I won't sell it nor recommend it to others.

It's not like I haven't been approached from international factories to sell lower grade products at much less of a cost but everytime I see the products firsthand they are poor quality or have poor fitment. And each time someone sends a product over to an international factory for replication it just takes more away from the companies actually producing parts. Do you think Option Racing created that pulley and decided to be innovative or copied UR's design? And besides I deal with Option Racing but only for headlights/tail lights b/c I wouldn't trust any engine product they sell b/c I have seen that calibre of products before.

And CH46ESeaKnight it isn't my product. Unorthodox Racing makes the pulley; we just sell them.

I did not mean to indicate it was "Your product" my bad, just ment you are trying to sell them. Did not mean it to be deragatory. It's just the way it goes. If you can't make a sale then why bother right? I also see what you mean about the replication Option Racing probably used. It sucks but if it saves me $175.00, well you see the point. And UR does not have to charge that much. Thats like a 300 % mark up. I understand they did the R&D and that cost money too. Just my on the matter.

No worries. I understand. I wish I could buy them for less and sell them for less but that is the cost of doing business. Plus they CNC machine their pulleys too and there is tooling involved with that. For me the peace of mind of knowing UR did everything properly is worth the extra cash. But everyone is different and as long as the end user feels comfortable with it then that is up to them.

x2. I won't go cheap with aftermarket engine parts. Maybe cheap isn't the right word, but unproven or replicated. I tried to go cheap with XS headers and that went south in a hurry (rattles, hissing, etc). I have no problem paying for something that'll give me piece of mind and wont hurt my pocket. However, it's good to know there are alternatives out there for some CL parts.

XS is underdriving the ps pump by increasing the size of the ps pulley. UR does it by DEcreasing the crank pulley. Either way it's the same thing. BUT very little gains are from underdriving the ps pump and/or alternator. The biggest gains are from the decrease in mass of the crank pulley from about 8 lbs to 1 lb. It's like a lightweight flywheel or lightweight wheels. All that XS pulley is going to do is look pretty.

BTW the UR underdrive pulley is solid, the stock size UR pulley has lightening holes and "looks" lighter. Can anyone confirm this?

We spent all day on Thursday working on my friend's '83 Mustang while getting eaten alive by misquotes. We threw the CL-S up on the lift at the end of the day and tried to break a couple bolts free before saying screw it. After a long day like that, the idea of spending Friday doing the same thing didn't sound like fun. Instead we woke up Friday morning, had some breakfast that grandma made us and headed out on the four-wheelers to hit a couple bars before heading back to the house when another 20 family members arrived and partied through the night. I'll be having my dad's cousins shop install them at some point soon.
