if u guys dont believe my bro than close this topic.. its dumb to fight on how fast his car is.. but he was just posting his time thats all, he actually we have to get a scanner to post the time.. i think u guys are mad or dont believe him because a 15.3 is close to a stock cl-s auto.. and u just cant believe that it ran that.. which is ok i just dont see what the fuss is about... so far my best time stock for my spec v is 15.41 at 90 mph.. but let me guess u dont believe me.. intake i never ran it yet but i think low 15s now i could drive stick better..

 

and remember the 15.3 was his BEST run he never said he ran that all the time... he avg 15.4s and just a couple 15.5s never any higher.. but last time i went to the track every other grand am gt or se was 15.9 and above evan modded so its not like we dont understand why u guys dont believe him but why would we lie. its dumb especially online..

this is spec v, sorry i meant to post a reply not post a new topic... and by the way a cl-s better beat a spec v, but i gotta tell u dont count it out.. its quick for a 4 banger... 15s is not bad at all stock. with mods i could be in the mid 14s ive seen it with only intake exhaust and headers.. but its a lease so intake is fine. im not putting money into a car that i have to give back...

 

its actually 175 hp and 205 trque... and my bro would run u.. but the car goes back march 24th than he gets the 03 cl type s... hell yeah, ill laugh if its slower than the grand am i hope not...

Two things...post the time slip or a video of the run and we'll all get off your backs.

The other thing is that in a 1/4 mile run, 1/10 of a second is a pretty big difference. Some people pay good $ to mod their car to gain a 1/10th or two.

One more thing (strangely in the Grand Ams defense)...the GT can come with a 3.4L V6 and the numbers that ga2000 posted agree with the Pontiac site. Maybe we are being hard on him and the GA is a quicker car than we though?

That being said, if we "magazine raced", why are the times so bad for the GA?

 

so wait, is this this topic about a grand am gt? My friend has a gran am gt and he ran a 14.9 asa his best run. That was also with some mods.

 

ill ge the slip posted somehow.. and u know how the slips look like from the track in the hamptons so youll know im telling the truth........ and with the track opens up i wont have the car anymore but i would meet u there and show u the slip...

last time i wne to englishtown i saw gtps rangeing from low 14s to mid 15s... and i saw two grand am se's 170 hp and 195 trqe running best 15.9s and worst low 16s like 16.1s.. and i saw one 2000 grand am gt with exhaust and intake running 15.9s he says he got 15.5s before hmmm.. now my 2000 grand am gt stock bested 15.3 dont know how but it did.. there are monday cars... i just think i got a freak that just runs a tad better than some of the others.. everyother grand am i ever raced i beat... so i dont know.. but the gtp is actually faster than a grand am gt with 175 hp and 205 trqe.. i also think the 3.4 3400 and the 3.8 3800 pontiac moters are under rated alittle... just like there 5.7 moters in the t/a there underrated as well.. so who knows.. but i wouldnt lie at all about a dumb 1/4 mile time for a grand am gt.. and a gtp should run high 14s to very very low 15s stock.. an avg grand am gt mid to high 15s stock.... dont go by magazines i u would think every car is slow or actually faster than they are... like every cl type s will run 14.8 auto stock??? no they wont.. not all of them... or the 2000 hhonda accord coupe with 200 hp it always says in the books 15.9 it didint run 15.9 everyone i saw stock or with mods ran 16s all day long. not low but mid 16s.. dont go by books...
