I know this thread should prob go somewhere else but I'm too pissed right now to figure it out. So The wife and I and 2 friends are cruising down the hwy and one of the AV6s go's flying by and then stops along side me. I figured ah what the hell I'll see whats up and I floor it, and it SMOKES MY ASS! So they stop again and I put it in SS 3rd gear, we're at about 75-78ish mph and I floor it again. I get a slight jump but it tears ass by me once again! We get off at our exit as well it the AV6, so I pull up along side it to tell them its fast and ask what was done to it. I was a chick driving (no offense) with her man in shotgun. I asked what was done to it and he said it was a stock auto!!! SO the whole time I'm at Chili's I'm pissed off b/c I got smoked by a chick in front of the wife and 2 best friends and they keep busting my balls about it. The only thing I could think of was that I had the A/C on and 3 other people in the car. I even asked their weights which came out to 4 people at a total of 631lbs. SO my question is is there some thing wrong or did I just have a bunch of weight?!?!

You had 3 people in the car dude.

Also, the A/C compressor turns off when you floor it so that you don't lose power.

 

I understand that part but that fucker flew by quick.....thanks for the confidence though! I just read up on the IMRC and how to check it so thats on the agenda for tomorrow!

 

i tried to gun it after getting my headers installed, w/ three grown people in the car and it was amazing how long it took for my cl to gain rpm's. then i went solo and was amazed by the difference. i'll never race a questionable opponent w/ more than 1 other passenger.

 

yea, the only thing i can think of is the weight issue. But i still feel that you should have been able to take or atleast not get smoked by it. When alone in the car how does it feel??

 

The weight was definitely an issue. Also, telling people that you're stock when you spank them is always a bonus even though you're not. The look on their faces is priceless. She could have had some mods on you and you'll never know it.

Checking IMRC is a good idea. Did you hear VTEC engauge?

You could always have yours dynoed and that should let you know if you've got an issue.

 

I do hear VTEC kick in, and it feels like it kicks hard. I'm going to check the IMRC tomorrow after the gym....maybe I could reduce MY weight! haha. I might have to stroll up to Fresno (Jeff) and get a few pulls on a dyno. I've never done it before so there's always a first for everything. Any places up there you'd recommend?

There's one place off of Golden State Blvd between Shaw and Bullard. I haven't done it there personally though.
