Would you get NOS?
Well I am wondering if you guys would buy NOS for the CL? Do you think our tranny would hold up?
ZEX sells a nitrous kit for our car for 595 bucks for up to 75 shots.

Just do something mild, like a 50 shot. I don't see much of a problem with that. Keep it reserved except for special occasions. Just make sure you do the correct setup. I don't know much about NOS, but I know you need to increase the fuel level when the nitrous runs through

The only reason I said Venom is becuase my brother and I we JUST talking about NOS and VENOM has all kinds of added safety features, etc, to avoid screwing up your engine. I don't know all the details, but I'm sure I can find out if you like

Sounds to me like some members have watched The Fast and the Furious one to many times
I'd go for the supercharger before nos. Nos is like cheating.

I was thinking about Nitrous on my old 3000gt, but got rid of it before I had a chance. Any research I come across, I'll be sure to post it...

what is recommended? Wet or Dry? I dont understand the difference but I would like to know before I go ahead and purchase NOS or not purchase one. The guy I know is selling NOS for $600 installed and I think it was DRY. I want to make my car look like a sleeper because everyone is has their car modded. I like giving suprises.
Any suggestions

i thought about the idea a couple of times... but in praticality NO i wouldn't do it unless the warranty is up... true, NOS does get you the most "bang for your buck" and if used conservatively should not damage your car too much... but i get mixed answers on how the tranny will handle it... (manual cars do have a stronger tranny) also if you do get a NOS system, i hear that a dry one would suffice especually if you're only running 50-75 shot. plus i hear dry systems are easier to control as well as cost less (someone correct me if i'm wrong).

I'd go with a wet system. They are safer than dry kits, and they have the possibility of going to higher shot levels than a dry kit. The highest I would run on a dry kit would be around 70-75. Also, dry kits put extra stress on your fuel injectors because they make them work harder to add more fuel to the cylinders. With a wet kit, the fuel is added to the intake tract through the fogger which doesn't put any additional stress on the injectors.

it's safe..just don't spray much...blown motors and tranny's are usually done by people who squeeze every morning on the way to work etc.

I do agree that wet systems can be superior in many cases. But the benefits are seen when individual nozzles are used per intake runner. When a single, larger wet nozzle is used up stream you run the risk of puddling the fuel and then running lean.
Because of the intake manifold design in the Type-S I could see a definite worry of puddling, who knows how the fuel vapor will react when the butterfly valve opens.

A guy around here is running a 100 shot single fogger wet on his CL-S. The TL doesn't have that butterfly valve that the CL-S has so I should be ok. I wouldn't worry so much about the engine not being able to handle the increased pressures of the NOS, I'd worry more about the tranny than the engine.

My concerns stem from seeing small amounts of oil in the center plenum (probably puddling from oil vapor from the crank releif, etc.). And then also from stories from the SHO crowd of people going lean in a cylinder or two when running a single nozzle wet system.

Would use NOS only with drag racing and heavily modified engine! Pistons, rods, tranny!
Though I think 70 would be ok on our engine
but the tranny is different ballgame! If they
are blowing in stock conditions and you add
NOS:::???

I DON'T SEE A PROBLEM WITH A 50 OR 60 SHOT. IF USED CORRECTLY & IN MODERATION NITROUS IS VERY SAFE. I HAD (70 SHOT/DRY) NITROUS ON MY OLD CAR FOR 3 YEARS & THE ONLY PROBLEM I HAD WAS HAVING TO BUY NEW TIRES.
