Would you do it again?

Would you buy a CL-S (Auto)?
Would you recommend buying a CL-S (Auto)? Or what would you get?

no i wouldn't....
i would listen to my friends and never buy a first year production vehicle and be the manufacturer's guinea pig. i would get something tried and true. it may not be thehippest thing on the road but it certainly also wouldn't be int he shop as much as my cl has

If I were to buy another CL-S it would have to be the 6 speed.

No way in hell I'd go with an automatic again....

Thanx for the replys. I have always wanted a CL-s since it came out and now that I can afford one, but I'm worried about the tranny problems. I plan to buy used.

YES, ABSOLUTELY YES!

I love my car... and it was one of the very FIRST ever made.

Sure there are problems with some, but overall it is a great, reliable car.

Keep in mind that people on this forum bitch and bitch and bitch, a lot more than those who quietly enjoy the hell out of their rides.

Do it! You're not any more likely to have a problem with this car than any other make of used car you buy out there.

I can't. I need this car to be my daily "stop and go traffic" driver. I do about 40mins of stop and go traffic every morning so don't really want the manual and if I could I'd probably get a 350z or E36 M3. Plus I plan to buy used so can't really afford a new CL-S6 unless I wait til summer which I might do.

Without a doubt, I would buy the CL-S again! Tranny problems not withstanding (you wouldn't believe the problems I had with the BMW 540 before this), the car does everything I expected of it and more. Quiet, luxurious, and fairly quick. Seats are great, NAVI works great, stereo is OK (not the best), and with the sways, it is a fun car to drive. In rush hour traffic, it is near perfect IMHO.

Absolutely yes, nothing close for the $$ especially if you're buying used.

All 3 of my Acura's have been problem free. Even if my tranny was going to die on my CL, I would still love my car and still buy another Acura! Keep in mind, people here like to bitch!

NO! And the only reason is transmission and stupid rattles.... transmission is probably the bigest reason.

I would not buy another Cl auto. If you want to buy a CL, go with the manual.

Don't get me wrong,I love my CLS.I love the sundance gold color, that is why I got it.It's different.I would not do it again. The main reason is the transmission issues. My car went through 2 transmissions in less than a year.So what if Acura extends the warranty for 7 years or 100,000 miles. They definately have some serious problems.I went and got a new car so i would not have to make repairs. It is a major inconvenience when this happens.

Other than the tranny issue, I love this car and would be happy with my purchase, but the tranny issue is just getting out of hand. So saying this, knowing what I know now, I would probably not buy another auto CL-S and would not recommend one to someone. I've actually recommmended against it a bunch of times already; and yes, only because of the tranny issue. I'd actually recommend against any automatic Honda/Acura with 200 HP or more at this point; which sucks, b/c I really like the MDX.

As far as what I'd get instead of a CL, or TL, I have no idea. I currently find myself in that situation and know that there'e no better value on the market for the money.

I'd buy another one fo sure!....I've got an 01 w/ 31,000 miles on it and I havent had not one problem with it!(knock on wood)My boy works for an Acura dealer and says that Acura(Honda) advises them to tell their customers not to drive it in 5th gear unless on the highway!

The gear ratio in 5th is too low and causes irratic shifting, which in time will destroy your tranny!4th gear is more than enough for around town driving, and besides they just upped the warranty on it anyways.it depends on what YOU want.automatic for pimpin' or stick for racing!Either way you'll still be pimpin'!

I would get it again. Of course I also seem to have the best model year for the CL-S.
