would ya?

I have the chance of getting a 01 cls with 96,xxx miles on it for 10,500 maybe a touch less. Is it worth it? should I hold out for something later with less miles?
thanks in advance,
Moonblue

Figure in the possible cost of a new tranny after 100k miles.

if you have the option to hold out, i would. trannt is expensive, and not covered after 100,000 miles

The tranny could be why it is being sold at 96k to begin with..... call a dealer with the VIN# and see if you can get any service history on the car.

When I had my redone at the dealership, they showed me the invoice for 4,600 including labor. Everyone talks about the tranny's but you may have one without any issues ever. Its a great car and looks sweet when its clean. You can do some slight mods and burn most v6's on the road. I have 99,500 on my 01 now, so I will have to go through the same, since I am planning on riding it for a few more years. If you can get a little cheaper I say do it. Every car will have its problems after 100K. Dont forget you have to change the timing belt, water pump, and plugs at 105K - about 700-1,000 not at a dealership; 1500 at the dealership. Just to give you a heads up. Good luck.

if you can make sure that tranny is OK then jump on it... The second gen CL's are sweet cars - the only downer is that slushbox!

Well the dealership I am looking at right now offers a warranty on the car for $895. Its a 4 year/50k mile warranty. So the car is lookin like it'll be about 11,400. They said that the original owner had the tranny replaced already. Give me some advice please, thanks.

It seems that the majority of cars that have a tranny replaced get more than one replaced within it's lifetime. I'd forget about the car even though it is nice, it will cost you in a tranny sooner or later, depending on how much you drive.

DON'T DO IT...
I only paid $15500 for my CL-P. It only had 31K on the OD and it was Certi Pre-Owned. That car has really high mileage...
Are you buying it from an Acura Dealership?

Save a bit more and get one with less miles.
