Would this tire setup work?

OK... I'm not sure this is the best idea in the world, so if anyone has a a better idea, I'm all ears.

Could I replace my stock tires with some Toyo T1-S 215/50 ZR17 and get a cheap winter tire setup from tirerack (or somewhere else if it'd be cheaper)? It seems that the Toyo's come in that size. I like the stock CL-S rims... Tirerack recommends a 16" winter tire/rim setup for the CL-S. Is that right? I think it was 205/60/16 with blizzaks. The rims looks like they'd run around 105 a piece, which is fine. I don't want to spend a lot of money on winter rims.

Am I crazy? Anyone know what the Toyos run? Are they good tires????

Thanks!

For next season, of course... I didn't know if I could get a better deal now.

The 215-50-17 Toyos are fantastic. Very sticky and awesome dry and wet. Mine with 8k that were rotated twice are for sale. $425 and i pay the shipping. I got 18s and put the same tire on in 225-40. If you want brand new they are about $170 plus tax and shipping, which will run you about $750 or so. If interested, respond or PM me. Good luck either way. You won't be sorry with Toyos !

I think I'd rather buy them new, but thanks for the offer. What kind of mileage could I expect out of the tires? I don't want to be replacing them after only 12,000 miles... Oh... Can the toyos be bought online anywhere?

I'd probably run out and buy them today, but I'd hate to just throw out my stock tires. They only have 2800 miles on them.
