ive got an '03 CLS-6 and just bought it about a month ago. its got comptech headers 'n icebox and its silver/black. my gf's stepfather has a set of four 17" gunmetal motegi rims for sale, he hasnt put them in the paper or ebay yet and wanted to offer them to me first. the tires have about 60% tread left on them and the rims are pretty much brand new minus one lil scuff spot which can be seen in the middle/top spoke in the first pic. they were his nephews and he only had em for a little bit before leaving for college. there are two pics below along with a pic of my car. they arent quite what im looking for, i want some 18" all black 5-spokes with a polished lip..but i wasnt going to have the money for them for atleast a full year or two.

hes asking for $500 for the whole set, and is willing to take half now and the rest in payments. they are 17x7 and 225/50/17. my questions are will that fit fine? will it look okay? and is it worth it for the money? ill eventually sell them in a year or two when i get my new rims but i figured this was a pretty good deal and why not jump on it. here are pics and give me your honest opinions, flame if you want to i can take negative critisim if its appropriate. ill be taking my car over on tuesday to have him throw em on to see how they look n fit, hes a mechanic so hes got all the tools n stuff at home to set em up for me.

i guess this shoulda gone in tires, wheels, n suspension. my bad, mods can move if they want.

 

no offense but moteigi is crap ...the 225/50 is moving in the wrong direction and IMO your stock wheels look nicer...i recomend you pass

hey man like i said i can take negative criticism and i appreciate your advice. if i dont get these i may either use the money to buy a set of the 01-02 CL-S five spoke rims, i really like those. or drop my car on the stockies, but i may never drop my car cuz here in vt potholes are more common than smooth spots in the rd and i have a 5 minute drive on clay/dirt rds every time i leave or come home. i also have a set of 1999 16" TL rims that i could unload and use the cash towards something else...my next mods will be comptech strut, sways, and an m5 lip so i could use the money.

 

i wouldnt rock those wheels if he payed me to.

 

thread is now useless, ive sold myself on not getting these. just for the fact that they really arent anything close to what i want. when i get new wheels i want at least some 18s and i really want something with a lip..so im either gonna save the loot for some black w/ polished lip 5 spokes or get some more comptech parts. i really want the strut bar and sway bars right now so i think thats where im putting my money. advice no longer needed lol

 

it's better to be on stock wheels than gay wheels. Use the money elseware and save for good wheels.

 

use that 500 towards your suspension...

Lowersprings, Sway Bars, Strut Bar....

you choose...

 

yup thats what i plan on doing..comptech strut and sway bars next..an m5 lip as well..and tint when i get around to it

 

very good decision on not getting those ugly rims!
