Winter tire sizes

I bought a set of winter tires that were used on a CL TypeS. They are 205 55 16 michelin pilot alpins mounted on steel rims. Is this the recommended size of winter tire for the CLS ?I thought 205 60 16 were the common down size. And how far off would the speedometer be if any. I couldn't find the info in the FAQ's. The main reason is my other car has 205 55 16 as all seasons and if it is a problem I may use these tires on that vehicle but it has a different bolt pattern so I would have to get new rims as well. Getting ready for the white stuff. I was also wondering what you guys are running for winter tires and how they performed. There was a recent article in consumer report that rated winter tires that I browsed through. The Arctic Alpin performed well for the Q rated tires but the Pilot Alpin was last in the H rated category. The Kumho winter tires were rated highly as well.

Thanks

205/60-16 "seem" to be the "common" winter tire size on a 16x6 wheel.

The 205/55-16 will run about 2-3% fast (depending on model and make). If you don't care about being 1-2 MPH off at 60 MPH, don't worry about it.

I'm running on 215/55/16 Michelin Pilot Alpins mounted on 2002 Accord V6 Coupe wheels (16 x 6.5)...perfect height and remains the same width as the OEM Michelin All seasons. Perfect for the Pacific Northwest winters.
