Window tint question????

Anyone heard of Luumar metalized tint or "tru guard" window tint?? I'm planning on getting my windows tinted and i narrowed it down to two choices
1. Luumar metalized tint 27% for $169.99
or
2. Tru-Guard tint 28% for $159.99

both have life time warranties. the place that does the luumar tint is farther from my house though. legal tint in colorado is 28%.

thanks.

well from what i thought, metallized tint wont fade. and Llumar is definitely a good choice to go with. i have that on my car and i paid a lot more than ur quote so the price is pretty good

i doubt they will hound u if ure 27% instead of 28% so go for the Llumar

Im going with llumar smoke color, im still trying to decide between 28% and 20%, I want 20% cuz it looks better, but my dad says he wants to see the visibility of 20% llumar smoke film at night.
What do u guys have to say about the visibility of 20% tint at night, is it a lot worse than factory windows?

haha valid excuse. So you can see fine with 20% all around tint, thats good. Hes going to sit in my neighbors sons car sometime this week at night, so he can get a view. I think its funny.

If u need a test car I've got 18% Stealth Lumar all around. And personaly in Fla. weather I NEED to go darker. Thinking of doing the windsheild 35% and add another 35% to the windows.

I have 15% LLumar. Been happy with it. Had the same tint on other cars & never had any problems. I would have gotten 5% but it was too dark. I wish they had a 10%.

I have heard from someone that Metalic ting blocks the GPS and cell phone signals. i don't know if it's true or not, but I was talking one of the tinters, and he said that it's better not use metalic. But I think that metalic quality is better and it looks better.

Metallic is BAD for RADAR detectors and NAVI systems.
It won’t BLOCK the signal, but it will reduce it to some degree.

On our cars the NAVI antenna is directly below the rear parcel shelf so it’s pretty important on the rear glass NOT to use metallic.

I had Llumar on my lude and it was great tint, truly is one of the best. But for my CL i went with 3M. Also lifetime warranty and I think it even better.

You just cant beat 3M for their products, but Llumar is a great choice too.

I've got the 3M metallic 50%/35% and it's been great.

As far as affecting reception:

-May *barely* affect GPS reception. Don't notice any signal weakness.
-Definitely affects AM. Not too bad though. You'll get a lot more static w/weak stations, bridges, etc.
-FM is minor
-Radar detector seems negligable. But again I don't have it installed on the front windshield. I've got the detector mounted right below the window shading..

All in all the 3M metallic was the way to go. Definitely worth it.

Go with Stealth. TRUST ME! 30% for sure. You can see out very good at night, and it will give you a little privacy for the road. Basically the metalized finish give it just a very slight reflective finish. It looks very nice. Somone should post a pic. If I had one of mine I'd post it and there would be no doubts as to what get. It's sweet!
