My cat was bad to i took it off and now gives me a code and cant pass inspection will a universal cat turn my EL off?

Some universal cats wont trip a CEL. And if it does just get defoulers.

a defouler is just a piece of metal that screws into the hole that the 02 sensor goes in. Then you screw the o2 sensor into the defouler. It moves the sensor out so you wont throw codes. I highlighted my defouler in this pic.
