Ideal offset is +48-+52.

That 51-offset makes more of a difference than you can imagine.

(See link I posted above. RE: the guy who started with 235/40-18s on +45s.)

The guy with the +45 offset was still having slight rubbing with the 225/40s and the 225/40-18s don't stick up as high as the 225/45s. (IMO -- The 225/40-18s also need to be XL rated to have a barely adequate load rating...)

Depending on the exact make of tire and wheel, there is a rather fine line. The S-03s are great tires and are very beefy (very wide in tread and section width). This makes for possible rub problems in the lower offsets.

There is currently a member with the 17x8 +48 offset SSRs, 235/45-17 Toyos, and Comptech springs that aren't supposed to rub (2-3 members have made this claim).

However, a new tester/pioneer is having some problems (or at least he was a week or two ago)...

rubbing... boy do I got that...

So I got my OZ superleggeras today...

18x8 +45 offset 225/45/18 Bridgestone s-03

Damn... I rub over every major bump... and when I go up hills.

I'm so sad... I really not sure what to do... I have already rolled my fenders I still get rubbing on the rear wheels.

I'm at a loss... I think i maybe the soft Eibach Pro-kit Spring and koni shock combo which is causing it.

My mechanic will be made at me... if I change it back to H&R sport springs...

oh well

That sucks, dude! I'm finally taking my car into the dealer tomorrow to have them look into the rubbing in the front inner wheel wells I have experienced since getting the SSR Comps and Toyos...

Well, I can't stand *any* rubbing. And I wanna do crazy shit whenever I feel like it without hearing the sound of my tire$ shredding...

I'm running on 18x7.5 w/ 235/40/18s and I've only rubbed once when I hit a HUGE pot hole going 75mph. Other than that, no problems. I swore my rim would have dented, but luckily it was ok.

more than anything its the saggy butt eibachs which are really soft for the CL-S...

The eibachs even though designed for the Accord V6 really does not work too well with our car. I wish I did not buy these springs and just put on my h&r sport springs in the first place...

Oh well...

I'll just wait for my apex'is to come in and deal with the noisy real coilovers...

and jack up the rear end so it does not hit the bumper...

But then again I'm getting rubbing on the fronts too on certain bumps in the road...
