Will I Smoke.....

A lightly modded IS300???

My friend's friend has a sweet IS300.. the deep blue color...
He's got a system, DVD monitor, surround sound and just starting the performance mods.

He added a GReddy exhaust and a CAI. I'm guessing he picked up 25-30 HP from those mods... He now wants to race me!!
EDIT: His car is AUTO

I SHOULD STILL SMOKE HIS TOYOTA AZZ.. RIGHT??

what do you guys think??

You should be able to beat him with ease.

Is it manual or auto?

Are those turbos covered under Toyota/Lexus warranty, or is their whole engine voided when they slap one of those on?? Also do they have a TRD turbo? Thats the only way i could see it being covered.

Somebody claimed that Toyota offered a turbo kit from factory, but that was proven wrong. I think TRD is only making superchargers right now, if they ever did make a turbo then I would probably be covered under warrenty. My friend had a Tacoma and he could get the TRD supercharger covered under factory warrenty.

Wha? What did the stock pieces look like, 1inch diameter intake with 50 90degree bends and exhaust pipe with a potato stuck in it??????? No way he picked up 25-30HP from an exhaust and intake

Actually, It is HP at the Crank, not the wheels.......

His CAI = +12-14
His Exhaust = +15

There stock exhaust is very restrictive... He said he's pushing 240HP at the Crank...

That's definitely the biggest restriction on that car. But I thought the problem was pre-muffler, maybe pre-cat. So unless the pipe runs a totally different path from the headers, I don't see 15 HP coming from a less restrictive muffler. Somebody correct me if I'm wrong...

Well, I talked to this guy again.. He said he did some research and he's only putting out 225-230 HP at the Crank/Flywheel...

Guess this wasn't even worth starting a thread....

Now, I just need to get a chance to Line up with him and let him get a nice long look at the rear end of my car.... So how long are you supposed to wait before turning on your flashers??

I would think 225/300 at the crank is right around 300hp, no? Not sure and intake and an exhaust adds that much power without an ECU for the intake (Lexus vehicles are picky with intakes).

He also has a bunch of heavy stuff in his car. You should beat him by a good car length 0-60 all the way to 100 mph.

Yeah... His ride is definently ... He's got about $5G's worth of electronics in there.... Maybe I can take some pics when I finally get a chance to race him.

...and he is going to order the TRD SuperCharger soon So I better hurry up and race him soon...
