Will I rub?
Will I rub?
After doing some research (via search), I'm pretty sure 18x8 with a 45mm offset and a 235/40/18 tire will not rub and fit fine.
Am I right? How bout with a conservative drop with Comptech? Just need some reassurance.
Thanks.

I'm want to do the same. Here's what I've found,
Some have 225 40 18 on a 7.5 +48 rim and rub.
Cause; Too low, softer springs and/or struts, bad roads, agressive driving, heavy speaker box, Camber adjusted to zero degrees, tires(not all 235's are the same dimension and have different sidewall and shoulder shape).
Some have 235 40 18 on an 8.0 +42 rim and don't rub.
IMHO on these cars, the suspension doesn't allow the tire to travel high enough into the fender to rub. Also with a mild drop the wheel travels farther and the camber changes more tilting the top of the tire inward.
Bottom line. Too many variables. Best thing to do is find someone with a combo like yours that doesn't rub and do that.
