will this exhaust fit a 01 CL (not type S)!
Hey, I recently purchased a 2001 CL and decided I would like to make a couple mods to it.
I decided that axle back exhaust would pretty much be wasting my money (especially at the comptech price, even though i really like them).
Problem is I can't find a cat back system that says it will fit just the 2001 3.2 CL.
http://www.sportcompactonly.com/Acur...-49738_v-2.htm
it's the Tanabe Super Medallion Hyper Spec Cat-back Exhaust System.
I've searched all night and it looks like i may just have to go with custom job or axle backs?
thank you for your time!

At this moment all the cat-backs have been discontinued for the cl. The link you posted for the tanabe is discontinued and if you ask the site they will say they do not carry it anymore.
Here are your options. First option is you can try to find a used cl catback. Second option is get a shop to make you custom exhaust, 3rd option would be to have a shop modify an exhaust made for the 99-03 tl or the 98-02 accord. Last option would be to wait for a new catback to come out. Supposedly tanabe has made a new cat-back(called medallion touring) that they show on their site. At first I was told this exhaust would come out 1.5 years ago. The last time I contacted them they said in June 2011, but it still is not available yet. Here is the link to the new exhaust on their site.

which would you suggest at this point in time? I know a couple of threads I found suggested just getting a custom job instead of having something modded at a shop.
thank you for the links. I came across a ATLP one too that apparently is not out yet either

if you wanna spend 600-1k for exhaust, then just get an exhaust made for the 98-02 accord v6, or get the atlp exhaust. they both will either need to be lengthened or shortened slightly...
If custom job, get whatever mufflers you want that have a 2.25" inlet and do 2.5" into dual 2.25"...No resonator is needed at that size of pipe with good mufflers...
I would def. get headers after your exhaust install so you can utilize it....gl

If you want it now then your best option is custom 2.5" that splits to 2.25". I am debating between custom and waiting for the tanabe myself. If the tanabe takes too long I will go custom.

I have the HKS Super Drager axle back system. I love it. It's a direct bolt on, sounds great. Cost me about $450 shipped.

That's a link to mine. Scroll down and there's pics and a couple videos. I also have my resonator removed, so it's a little louder.

Whats up with RDX owners?

Im pretty sure that no matter what axle-back system you get, youre going to need to upgrade the rest of the piping since it is 1/4" smaller then the CL-S exhaust that all these axle-backs are made for.
Also, that new Tanabe exhaust looks nice, but the piping is rather small at 60mm (2.36").

Also you can do a 3 inch exhaust to get maximum hp but you will most likely give up torque for a few hp.

http://imageshack.us/clip/my-videos/837/14nk.mp4/ only video clip I have it's somewhat loud but sounds really good I think, the only way to really hear an exhaust is to hear it in person IMO.
And as for the piping size it is sufficient for bolt ons, but if you have serious work done, then obviously you would have a better type of exhaust, but for a bolt exhaust that looks great and will last for quite some time without rusting best bang for the buck. I will say though the stock gaskets will give out in about 4 years, but that was four years with winters and it held up great.

car looks great man^^
as far as my car, the sound is decent, its really quiet actually.
I noticed the muffler is bigger than the ones ive seen before. it came off of a is300.
Anyways, you cant really hear it at cold start, and wot when warmed up sounds good...no rasp, no pingy sound or anything. I have 2.5" from cat all the way to the muffler(2.5" inlet) and no resonator/mid-muffler...wanna go 3" to it next and see the hp gains and sound difference...

yeah the exhaust is 4 piece, 1 straight piece from the cat to the beginning of the y pipe which has the resonator on it, then the y pipe itself, then the 2 mufflers, so thats kind nice when you need to take it off or put it on.
but it is not an overly loud exhaust magnaflows would be at least 50 percent louder than it, but it definitely has the JDM exhaust tone.
found a better video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=u0Hgu0EWYWc

Would getting the TL apexi ws2 cat back and having it modded be a good idea? Found it on sale for a decent price.
Is going to cost me a lot more to go full custom? Just in general not looking for exact numbers.
Yeah, i plan on getting headers, exhaust, and probably a CAI and calling it a day. Already spent a fortune on rims and tires well, for my budget anyway.
